Vehicle Detail
***3 day listing***NO RESERVE*** I am selling my cars and this is one of them. 1976 Porsche 912E with just over 35,500 actual miles. This 912 has the optioned sunroof and A/C... only 500 of the 2099 ever built had the sunroof option, even less with the air. I am the second owner of this car. I bought it from a guy in Chicago who needed to sell some of his cool vehicles. The car was originally brown and I had it painted Guards Red (correct color code and Dupont paint). Original owner had the fuel injection replaced back to the dual Weber carbs as many owners did. They say it runs much better than the injection from the factory, and this sure drives excellent. I have done A LOT of maintenance updating on this car. It runs great! It looks great! It has new tires, alignment, new shocks and struts, new brakes and hoses, repacked wheel bearings, new wipers, new engine lid and front bonnet shocks, all new door seals and felt, and several other things... general tune up. I just ordered new re-usable air filters. This car is in great shape and all original except for the expensive repaint I had done (and all the maintenance). Everything works except the clock, A/C (its all there but I never would use it anyway), and temp gauge (these run cool so I never bothered with fixing). It will need a muffler/exhaust. It does bog down when given too much gas because of the lack of back pressure I think. I will have the carbs adjusted as well, just in case, no biggie. The interior is very nice except the drivers seat bolster has rips from the previous owner being a little bigger and sliding in and out. The threads in the seats seperated from being dry, this happened during my ownership. No cracks in the dash, roof liner in good condition, carpet looks good and has no rips but could use a cleaning. door pockets in good condition. All lights work, all lenses are perfect, even the glove compartment and the bonnet lid light work. The radio works well as do all the speakers...but I hardly ever even turn it on. It has the original air pump and spare tire ... It has the original owners manuals and booklet cover. I have photos of all these but I can only put on 24 pictures. This is a very tight running, tight driving car. I absolutely love it and you will too. I haven't put back on the fog lights because of cracked lenses, and I chose not to put the brightwork back on around windshield, it looks better without, but they are in the front trunk. You can see them in the picture. If you have any questions or want more photos, I will certainly answer and take any you want. In addition: The original color was the brown... code 408-9-1... Engine # is 4060574. Thank you for all the compliments. It truely is a great lil classic sportscar. Email me for engine pics... the air cleaner assembly is chrome and does add a nice touch. Email me for more undercar (very nice with no rust, it still has all the original goop protection...its what I call it) and engine pictures. Thanks.
