The ultimate barn find, a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air - Sitting since the year "1969" Was found sitting in a garage out in Garden Grove, California. The Bel Air was buried with boxes & was used as storage. - Here is the story behind this 56' 2 Door coming from the owner's wife - It was purchased in 1967 from the original owner that lived out in West Los Angeles. The original owner kept it all original & stock, barley ever driven with low miles. The 2nd owner purchased it thru the local newspaper. He was looking to build a Bel Air Gasser / hot rod for the track. He drop a 283 V8 with Power Pack Heads (Pyramid style). Converted the 3 speed manual from the column to the floor, adding the Hurst Shifter. Diamond plate under dash oil pressure gauge, adding the smaller steering wheel & deleting the Bel Air badges (Still have the original steering wheel & badges, boxed). The 2nd owner was in the air force & sadly passed away in 1970. Leaving the car behind to his wife, exactly the way you see it. From 1970 to approx 1985, the Bel Air was barley driven & sat on the side of there home. Giving the car was left for the public to view, people would be asking her if it was for sale mostly every other week. She had it parked in the garage in the mid 80's & it sat until' recently. The owner's wife realized it was time for the family to let go & let someone else it put it back on the road. Up for auction for the very first time anywhere, I bring to you this Rare 56' Bel Air. . . At 3 Days No Reserve. The owner's wife stated the miles are accurate. I have no documentation to prove it & it's a question mark that can not be proven. ____________________________________________________________________ This Bel Air is a factory two tone Indian Ivory/Dusk Plum. Remains most of it's original paint. The interior is all stock & had never been restored. The chrome, trim & moldings are original. Keep in mind, this is a 55 years old car that has never been taken apart. The paint has some modification done a long time ago. The front 2 fenders looked as there were replaced at one time, for what ever reason i don't know. Doesn't show any structure inner damage. The floors are all original & in beautiful shape. Has on each rocker near the rear wheel a rust spot. A few tiny holes on the body & on the quarter. Please see photos for more details.The interior is bone stock. Factory Grey & Ivory interior. Door panels, dash, upholstery, & trim are original. Has not been running for decades. Does not have the original engine but it does turn by hand freely. Under the hood is original paint as well. Overall, a great California 1956 Bel Air restoration project. Needs to be restored inside/out or keep it in it's original condition. Buyer/Bidders to understand that it is a project. The ultimate find for someone looking for a rare Bel Air.
