In my opinion; America’s last era “tough” built truck!History:I received this truck from my parent’s estate in 2005. I’ve kept it for six years for sentimental reasons starting it up once a month and a few short drives a year. Realistically, I have no need for it. I’ve decided to just keep smaller items from my parent’s estate and let this jewel of a truck go to the highest bidder. I remember dad purchased it in 1978, when it had approximately 25,000 miles on it. During retirement, he babied it obsessively and used it for easy drives and light recreation until he passed away. When I received it in 2005 it had 98,000 miles. Since my ownership I’ve only driven for fun drives and put on approximately 2,500 miles in 6 years. Features:100,840 original milesEngine: Ford 390 V8; original 2 barrel carburetor.Transmission: Original C6 Automatic; runs as strong as the day driven off the lot.Drive: Rear wheel drive (2wd), all original drive train, disc brakes up front, drum brakes in the rear. Tires: Toyo 265/75, 16 inch aluminum sport rims spare tire mounted under truck bed.Other features: Dual Exhaust, power steering, auxiliary battery, dual fuel tanks with locking caps (fuel selector works perfect, as well as both fuel tanks). Brand new diamond plate aluminum Better Built 6 foot tool box comes with it.Everything original from factory except:· Custom aluminum 3/4ton wheels.· 4 square tube steel female receptacles welded to frame under truck for camper secure points (4 of them, 2 on each side; visible in pictures under body). Matching male steel tube inserts with welded chains to outfit a truck bed camper are included with truck. Everything works perfectly except:· The fuel gauge works intermittently.· Driver’s side sun-visor stem is missing as shown in photograph. · It also has a VERY MINOR exhaust manifold leak that is so small it’s easy to miss and almost not worth mentioning; it has never been an issue and has been there since purchased in 1978 because it wasn't even worth the effort to fix it. Is very mechanically sound, equipped with original strong high torque Ford 390 cubic inch V8 engine. The engine sound is deep, strong and commands authority with true dual exhaust and straight pipes exiting behind both rear tires. It is truly a pleasure to drive with the hot rod engine and smooth shifting automatic transmission! This truck cruises very smoothly down the freeway at 85mph with lots of power to spare. There is no hidden small issues left unsaid or purposely skipped like windshield wipers not working or tailgate latch not working; every little thing works perfect unless specified above. Payment/Shipping Instructions:Vehicle pickup and/or shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. Winning bidder must deposit $300.00 using Paypal within 24 hours of end of auction. I do not like giving Paypal all my money, so after buyer inspects vehicle in person (or hires someone to do so), they must give the remainder of money owed either in person with cash or direct bank to bank wire transfer if vehicle is being shipped. If wire transfer is required, I wait until the person picking up the vehicle is physically present and an inspection is complete; then the buyer is contacted on the phone by the person picking the vehicle up to execute the wire transfer. Upon pickup of vehicle and after cash (or wire transfer) has exchanged hands, then title is handed over with truck and I say my last goodbye’s! No checks or money orders.
