up for auction today is a 1981 pontiac trans am, turbo pace car with recaro interior edition. unfortunately the the original 301 turbo motor is long gone, but was replaced with a 403 oldsmobile motor with 455 "J" heads, edelbrock performer rpm intake, mallory unilite distributor and coil, headers, 750 holley double pumper and a mild cam. th350 trans with a b&m saturday night special convertor, 2000 stall. still has the original 3.08 posi with disc brake rear end. these cars came loaded from the factory, with a price tag of over 12,000.00. in 1981 that was a huge amount of money for a car! options include: power windows, power locks, tilt, cruise control, delay wiper, rear defrost, power trunk release, a/c, red dash lighting, power antenna, t-tops, etc. the last inspection was 2002 in north carolina. has been stored since. the previous owner told me he was going to paint the car but he never got that far. he did remove the weather stripping and some trim. the car is extreamly solid. only rust being the center of the trunk pan having some holes. quarters, floors, frame rails are all very solid. the spots of surface rust in the pics are where he started sanding the paint and never primered it. no pitts, just surface rust. the car has been painted previously in its life as there are no signs of decals anywhere on the car. as you can see, it still has the recaro seats in it. they functions like they should. i have not heard the car run or have i driven it. the motor turns over by hand. there are some pieces missing, such as the rear window trim, arm rest, radiator and shrod. possibly other stuff as well. i'm not talking this car up trying to make it something that its not. what you see it what you get. nothing more, nothing less. this is a highly sought after trans am that will be worth something once restored. please ask all questions BEFORE bidding. 500.00 deposit due within 2 days from auctions end via paypal. balance due within 7 days from auctions end in cash. the car should be picked up within 7 days from auctions end. winning bidder is responsible for all costs with shipping. i will assist where i can.
