Hello! Up for bid is a 1988 Ford Ranger 4x4 reg cab swb v-6 5-speed. This truck would make a good hunting truck or work truck. I was driving it 70 miles round trip back and forth to work when I decided to get a larger truck for my family. The truck does need some work but overall it is not too bad. I have just replaced the front brake pads, passenger side caliper, inner wheel bearings and seals, and fuel filter. The truck got me right around 20mpg. The four wheel drive works as it should. Now for the bad. The truck has a 2.9 v-6 and they are known for their noisy lifters when the motor gets some wear on them. This one is no different. After driving 5-10 miles at highway speeds the lifters start pecking but they quieten down if you are idling or going through town. The speedometer does not work so I dont know how many miles the truck has on it. The paint is peeling and there are a few rust spots on it. The tires are not in the best shape and the a/c doesnt work. This is not a new truck but it is not priced as so. The steering seems tight but it will probably need some ball joints replaced pretty soon. The clutch feels good and the transmision shifts out like it should. Overall this is not a bad little truck for the money. I have tried to describe the truck the best that I can.
