For Sale is a used, 1998 Dodge Ram Van 3500 with 150,000 miles, 5.9 liter gasoline engine. It was a hospital van used to transport people around town and between hospitals. It has a Ricon electirc/hydraulic wheel chair lift in the back that is intended to transport the person in the wheel chair, which operates on battery power or with a hand pump. The van runs well, but it is not perfect. In December 2001 it got a new transmission. It has the extended roof, so there is more clearance inside and when entering the side & rear doors. The heater fans only work on high and off. I don't know if the air conditioner works as I have not driven it in the summer. It has an AM/FM/cassette radio, I think it is stuck on one FM channel, I have not tired the cassette player. The engine seems to be in good condition; I believe it has had regular maintenance by the previous owner. The tires and brakes are fair, though I think the front brake rotors may be warped as it has some movement in the steering wheel when the brakes are applied. There is some rust underneath like any vehicle in the upper midwest that is this age. The heater works good and warms up fast. The exterior is in good condition with little rust. There had been a leak above the rear doors and water has rusted some of the tiedowns for the wheel chair, but I believe they can be broken loose to use to strap down a chair and passenger. The arm rests of the front seats don't seem to work right, but they are there. All the seats are included, so the lift could be removed and used as a 15 passenger van. Or the lift could be used to haul things other than a wheel chair, like a delivery van. Someone has lightly scratched the windshield on the outside in the driver's view, like using a metal ice scraper; I would suggest trying a windshield scratch removal kit on it.
