Vehicle Detail
Up for auction this week is a 1979 Chevrolet c-10 custom deluxe 2wd pick up truck,This truck is in very good and solid shape ,This truck was built in Flint Mi, and has survived 33 nasty Wisconsin winters, all body panels, are original, the frame is solid,as are the floor boards,as far as I can tell. the engine is a newer center bolt,head,1 piece rear main seal, and possibly a roller cam block either a late 80's or early 90's with a 3 speed manual transmission (with granny low gear),I would say it is 87000 original miles But I can't promise that, as I'm not the original owner.the tires have probably 70-75% tread on them,It is the big 10 so it has stiffer suspension,I installed a Brand new radio, I bought from Brothers Classic trucks around Christmas time($200+) this cost alone it is a digital radio, with mp3,satellite,hd, modern day capabilities,I have installed a brand new battery,(less than 24 hrs on the battery I would say),brand new alternator installed at the same time, ($150 for battery and alternator)all new brakes all the way around,($400) brand new exhaust from the cat. back ($200) new headlights, blinker bulbs, tail light bulbs, fresh antifreeze all done recently,,I have a tailgate you can have for free, this truck starts and runs great down the road, has enormous exceleration, and very good pull power, and is quiet in the cab while driving, this truck is fun to drive, engine has developed a slight oil leak, I think it is an oil pan gasket, and it does burn oil, not entirely bad, there are a couple rust holes under the drivers door on the horizontal panel,of cab, and behind rear tires on bed panel but is not rusted through. This is still an easy fix with some sanding and primer, all in all this is a neat, fun to drive, cool old truck ,that would be a breeze to restore, or if you would be interested I could restore per order, I have a 375 h.p. 383 with 0 miles for$2200 additional or a 430 ft.lb torque 406 for $2800 additional, I can install a modern day 5 speed, manual trans, and and have it painted to order, normally these paint jobs are aprox $2500 I can have it done for about $2000 and install engines for free pick out a cool set of rims and I can get discounted tires and You can have a kick butt restorod truck, these were my plans But the wife says some things gotta go, I actually really like this old girl,But I have build plans for other vehicles. my cell number is 608-669-2471 if you have questions
