Vehicle Detail

1965 Ford F100, Twin I-Beam, Custom Cab Pickup. This is a very solid, original paint, original engine, Oregon truck. It has been in Michigan since August 2006 but has never seen a Michigan winter and more importantly it's never been exposed to the menace of chloride. The truck has been garage stored since it was brought to Michigan. I am the third owner and had the customization work done to the truck. The engine is a bullet-proof straight 6 connected to a 4 speed manual transmission. I added Hedman headers and custom exhaust but other than that, the engine is stock. There is an ignition interrupter switch on the dash and spark plugs in the tail pipes - a flame thrower kit - that enable the driver to fend off would-be tailgators with 6 foot flames shooting out of the pipes. The truck has been lowered using a front suspension kit and lowering blocks. The rear frame has been notched to allow the rear axle to tuck nicely into the frame. Front and rear roll pans were added to give the truck a custom look and the perfect amount of pinstripe accents inside and outside of the truck add character. The bomber art on both rear quarters reads "Six in line, so fine", is very tasteful and won't get you thrown out of church should you decide to drive the truck there on Sunday. The welded chain-link shifter finishes the custom look inside the truck. This is a great driving CRUISER. Starts every time and runs like a 1965 straight 6 should. The brakes work great, front and rear shoes were replaced in September 2006, but don't be in a hurry to stop - this is a 1965 Ford pickup with no power, drum brakes. The truck has enough torque to pull your house down, but don't be in a hurry driving it, it's not fast. It's meant for cruising with the windows down on two-lane roads with your favorite four-legged friend in the back, and/or a kid or two in the front with no seat belts (no need for such things in 1965) which the kids will think is cool. The steel dash is a work of art and has nice pinstriping accents. The water pump was also replaced in September 2006 as were the right front brake drum, both rear axle seals and rear wheel cylinders. This truck is ready to drive. It's not a show-stopper but it's solid and fun. I bought the truck for $3,500 and put over $7,000 into it.
