Vehicle Detail

1963 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 389 cu. in engine with a 4 bbl carb that I really don't want to sell but I am unemployeed and I don't have the money to restore the car this winter.I have a clear title in my name. I had it in storage last winter but not this winter. I rather see the car go to someone who will restore it rather than see it in the weather this winter. This car is a good starting point for someone. I was going to do what I call a rolling restoration, where I would drive it while I restore it. The car does run and drive. The last time it was on the road was 1991 when the owner at the time slid into a snow bank and did damage to the right hand side of the car. The frame is not damaged, the snow bank just hurt the sheetmetal. A good bodyman could fix it and the car would retain all of the original sheetmetal. The only place that there is rust thru is a small section behind the right rear wheel. The floor pans are solid. The trunk pan did have surface rust that I scraped and sanded and applied Eastwood rust converter to stop the rust. The trunk pan is alittle thin and would need to be replace one day but is okay for now. The moisture got in from the antenna not being installed which I ended up putting one in. Even with some rain showers no water gets in the trunk. All of the glass is good no cracks. The interior is good but the head liner needs replace and the dash pad has cracks in it plus there is wear in the drivers seat. I rebuilt the carb and replaced the valve cover gaskets. Since I was there I cleaned up the covers and painted them. I also changed the oil and filter. Changed the anti-freeze and hoses and the thermostat. Belts and air filter and gas filter changed. Got a new battery. Repaired the wiper motor and repaired various electrical problems. If you have any questions I will answer all. The headers in the trunk do go with the car. I also forgot to mention the transmission was rebuilt 12 years ago according to the previous owner and he gave me the parts that were replaced.
