Vehicle Detail
Approximately 10k invested over the last 3 years. Not a frame-off restoration, but most things replaced. I tried to keep it as original as possible. Daily driver for the last 2 years. Selling 'cause I have a 5,000 food trailer that needs to be towed. Getting a Wagoneer. Original engine and 3 spd transmission. Runs very well. Heavy duty steering shaft, new distributor, starter--long list. There is minimal rust. Had the body painted about a year ago. There is some bondo, but overall, the body looks solid. The tub has had steel welded into where the rust was cut out from before I owned it. I would describe this as very good for it's age. I would be happy to meet a local mechanic if you would like to have one look at it. The frame appears to have only surface rust. I have had my mechanic paint over what he could see & reach with Rustorer from Bullfrog (supposedly what the Navy uses on Aircraft carriers) Kenwood stereo w/ Boston Acoustics Speakers Painted with Landrover color Arles Blue Here is the low down of what I think isn't perfect: -The gas gauge only works until about half-full. I have had the tank dropped twice and replaced the floater. It still doesn't work. I have heard the a big portion of the floaters are defective. I write down my mileage and add fuel every 120 miles or so. -The moonroof has a moderate leak. It doesn't leak in a light rain, but drips in anything heavier. -I have never had gotten the wipers to work right. I have used rainex since I bought it. The flat windshield seems to disperse rain fine for me. I have most of the parts and will include them. -The gas tank has a leak at the top. It will overflow if you fill to the top. I fill by about 90%. It has not been a problem for me. -There are some rust bubbles in the front quarter panels and under the windshield. I have tried to document as well as possible in the pictures. I can tell you the the tailgate looks good, but has alot of bondo in it. -The stereo seems to have a loose wire. It will cut out and come back on every once-in-a-while. On Feb-06-12 at 06:09:54 PST, seller added the following information: Here are some of the things that I have had done to the Jeep. I am not mechanically inclined, so I can't remember alot of the stuff. I also don't want to misspeak. Here it goes: -New carburetor. Pretty sure it's a weber high performance. Bought from the owner of a jeep specialty shop.-New Intake and/or exhaust manifold-New electrical wiring-New starter-New U-joints-New distributor & cap-New Transmission & motor mounts-New Brake Master cylinder There are also some new seals. I think they were for the transfer case, but can't remember. I think that there was differential leak that was repaired, but really can't remember. The mechanic who did alot of the work did it in his spare time for half what he charged at his shop, so if you consider that, there is alot more than 10k in the Jeep. I really just let him fix whatever he recommended. There has been more done than on the list, but I can't remember the terminology. There have also been about 150-200 hours of bodywork/paint. The engine runs very strong and usually starts first crank. This has been my only car for more than 2 years. I would not sell it if I didn't need to tow a 5000lb trailer. Going to use the proceeds to get a Wagoneer. On Feb-09-12 at 13:42:37 PST, seller added the following information: Low Reserve
