Vehicle Detail
Ok... this vehicle is titled as a "1982 Composite Roadster". It was originally built in the early 1980's. Built based on a Gazelle, it has a custom frame, 1968 Sprite body, custom sheet metal up front, 1932 ford fenders, front bumper and tail lights, 1972 Pinto suspension with new shocks, springs, ball joints, control arm bushings, panhard bar, completely rebuilt drum brakes, and new gas tank. Underside and suspension have been cleaned and re-painted. New radiator, radiator hose and cap. New brake lines and fluid. New interior panels, and battery. Everything on this vehicle has been replaced or re-done (cleaned and re-painted). The color is a dark silver metallic and the interior, trunk, and foot boxes have been herculined. All new fuel pump, filter, lines and hoses. New water pump, timing belt, spark plugs, v belt, and headlights. 4 cylinder motor and automatic transmission are from a 1978 Mustang II and were stripped down, cleaned and re-painted, and rebuilt with all new gaskets. The body is from a 1968 Austin Healy Sprite and has a convertible top with all new interior panels and door skins. I "herculined" the interior rather than purchasing the carpet kit because I was going for more of a "Rat Rod" look. Most of the gages work and there is very minimal wiring that needs to be done. There are front fenders with running boards and side panels for the hood, but I never planned on installing them. It comes with boxes of extra parts including windshield wiper setup, and heater setup (again, wanted a certain look and wasn't concerned about heat or driving in the rain). I originally bought this vehicle as a "father and son" project, but I recently purchased another project and the wife wants her parking spot back in the garage. All mechanical work has been professionally done by my father who has over 30 years of experience. The car runs and drive nice, and turns heads every time we take her out. It's not registered or insured, but has an existing Massachusetts title. It has been a lot of fun and there are hundreds of hours of labor involved in this build including all documentation dating back to 1982. I'm sure there's lots more that I am forgetting, but feel free to email me with any questions you might have at Rrc718@aol.com Thanks,Bob
