Vehicle Detail
Here's a genuine 1966 Triumph T20 Mountain Cub. During the 1960's US Triumph dealers sent a request to the factory that they provide a model to better suit the American off road customer. The result was a model that incorporated parts from the SC, Tiger and Trials variants already produced. Many a small bore trials or desert race was won by these little Triumphs. While off road oriented the Mountain Cub is street legal. This model is rare and hard to find unmodified. This particular example was found and purchased from a repair shop that had existed since the 1940's. The story goes that in 1969 it's owner brought the bike in with an ignition problem and never returned to collect it. Through the years it was moved around the shop and eventually into a shed out back. I acquired the Cub following the shop owners passing. The history appears to be legit based on a few key factors. The points and points cover are missing. The mileage is low and the bike still has it's original 69 Nebraska plate and original Dunlop Trials tires. There's no title. The Cub is bone stock and has great compression. The Amal carburetor is present. The high exhaust is correct for the Mountain Cub. The seat is dirty but still feels comfy. The tank needs some help, but has no rust holes. Oil tank still has 43 year old oil in it. Frame has zero issues. In short this is a great restoration project. Largely only needing blasting and paint. Cables and what few chrome bits it has are the only things I would replace with new or gently used parts. Standard Cub parts are the same and easy to come by. I have no ability to ship this. I can however drop it off at a shipper in the Orlando Metro area -or- let your carrier pick it up from my home. UShip.com is very reasonable! I can hold the bike for up to 30 days if need be. Paypal or cash in person only. Item sold as is. Will provide bill of sale to auction winner. Transaction must be paid in full within 7 business days of auction end. If you wish to speak more in depth please forward your contact info via the Ebay "contact" selection. Thanks!!!
