Vehicle Detail
Please take the time to read the entire listing and look closely at all of the pictures, if I have not answered all of your questions, please ask. This is not a perfect vehicle, but I have tried to describe it properly and thoroughly. The Reserve is realistic, in my opinion. This is a rare opportunity for someone who admires these type of cars, to own a unique example. You are looking at a very rare and desireable Miller Meteor limousine-style "windows all around" hearse/ambulance combination. This particular body style is not often seen, because the majority of these were built in the landau-style "closed rear quarter windows" and most of them were straight hearses. Another factor that adds to the rarity of this car is the fact that by the time this car was being built, the majority of ambulance services were using trucks. And there were not many funeral homes still running ambulance service, therefore the need for combination coaches was very small. This particular coach spent most of it's life in Texas, which probably helped it survive. Probably only used as a hearse, since it has no emergency lighting, or sirens of any kind. The body is fairly straight and quite solid. The car runs and drives well. The engine runs strong with no noises, or smoke. The transmission shifts properly. The front end, steering and brakes work properly. There is no broken glass and the power windows go up and down properly. The tires are brand new radials with the proper load rating. In addition to the new tires, the car has been tuned up, carburator, water pump fuel pump and alternator have been rebuilt and the belts and hoses were replaced. Stretcher is included! There is a box containing curtains and some hardware also included, it is the box under the stretcher. There is alot to like about this car, but it does have it's flaws. Please don't expect to go straight to a show. You can see in the pictures that there is what I would call minimal rust. The under side of the car has a thick layer of what I believe is only surface rust, because it seems quite solid underneath from what I can tell. There is no radio and the air conditioning does not work. The fuel guage works, but at a quarter of a tank, you are out of gas. The tail lights will sometimes work and sometimes not work, I suspect there is some faulty wiring back there. The interior needs a bit of work, but it is mostly serviceable as it is. If this car received minor tlc, it could be a great driver. If someone was so inclined, this could become a prized posession for a Cadillac, or professional car, or ambulance collector. This car will be sold AS-IS, with NO WARRANTY expressed, or implied. I have tried to describe it accurately, but nothing beats a personal inspection. It is your responsibility to read the listing, view and drive the car, or ask any questions before you bid. I encourage you to inspect and drive the car, or ask any and all questions prior to bidding. Please keep in mind, that this car is thirty five years old, so please don't expect it to be like your modern car. My name is Bill Marcy, if you have any questions, you can call me at 201 954 3159, or send me your questions through ebay and I will be happy to answer. Thank you for viewing my listing and taking the time to read my rambling.
