Vehicle Detail
1941 Dodge WC Half Ton four wheel drive dump truck. This is a 99% rust free running/driving operating vehicle. I own a vintage 4x4 restoration shop specializing in Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40’s, I bought this truck with the intention of making it a marketing tool. I planned to modify the bed to haul a mint FJ40 to car shows. A recent broken arm and infection has put me back work wise. I have too much customer work to entertain my own projects, so here it is, for sale NO RESERVE, meaning bid to win. Copy and paste the photobucket link below for 45 pics of this truck http://s953.photobucket.com/albums/ae11/fj40man79/1941%20Dodge%20Power%20Wagon/ MECHANICAL The stock flathead 6 has been rebuilt and sounds great, holds 40 lbs of oil pressure at hot idle. Gauges all work except for speedometer. Stock carburetor runs OK, I recommend a rebuild. This truck will drive around fine, but the carb rebuild would make it much better, it runs rich right now. 4 speed trans shifts well, no weird noises, clutch is good. There is a working PTO which goes FWD and Reverse. In cab lever to operate the hydraulic dump bed. Single speed transfer case. The dump bed is from a WWII 1 ½ ton Chevy, the hydraulic ram is Gar Wood from a 2 ½ ton GMC WWII CCKW. Warn hubs and 4x4 works great, 12 volt. New brakes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder re-sleeved, parking brake holds on a hill. BODY This is the most rust-free 41 Power Wagon I’ve seen short of a mint restoration, it is in remarkable shape for a 71 year old truck. The only rust to speak of are 1 spot on each door at the bottom, pics clearly show it, real easy patch. This truck has the coveted enclosed cab. The frame and other commonly rusted components are in excellent shape. The original seat has been recently recovered. The windshield glass is cracked, all the lights are new are work as they should. The tires are old and weather-checked, they hold air and have tubes, I’ve driven this truck around a bit and have not noticed any leaks. I found military surplus that sell tires for these cheap, as this size is not usable for common vehicles, Coker tire also makes repops. Original engine crank, lug nut socket, wheel hub socket included. PAPERWORK This truck is titled as a 1946 as they all were when put to civilian use. VIN tag matches the title. I transferred the clean clear title in my name about 1 month ago, I will get it in physical form any day. It has a WA state collector plate which is good forever, out of state will need to get a vintage plate for their state. I have a folder 2 inches thick with receipts, research, documents on every part of this vehicle, it is golden info that is hard to find. This particular truck is also recognized by the Chrysler historical society in 2011, they sent copies of the build sheet on this truck, really cool info. SUMMARY This is an easy restoration project, I looked for 6 years to find a power wagon in this condition that did not cost $15,000 to start with. I’m letting it go no-reserve, so bid to buy it. I ship FJ40’s all over the world, I can put you in contact with my shipping broker, or work with your shipper. I will deliver this truck within 300 miles of Benton City WA at $1.75 a loaded mile. Truck and fuel charges paid before it leaves my property. I require a $1000 non-refundable deposit via paypal immediately after the auction is completed. Remainder of payment bank to bank wire transfer, cashiers check, personal check, cash in person within 7 days closed auction. I can take the whole amount via PayPal, I will pay the 4% on the first $1000, you must pay the 4% on the rest, you can use a credit card this way. I welcome you or any 3rd party appraiser to view this truck during the auction, not after. I own Auto-Appraisals & Pre-Buy Inspections, so skip me when looking in the phone book. I do not have any shop time to upgrade or modify this truck in any way, it is sold as-is. If you do not like the dump bed and hoist, I’m told it is worth an easy $1500-2000 in a local classified to you. Thanks and Happy Bidding! Landcruiser hummer jeep unimog military willys flat fender Antique powerwagon On Jan-30-12 at 10:30:14 PST, seller added the following information:The paint was done a few years ago by the previous owner. It is matte black POR-15 (the best rust inhibitor available) Kudos for the PO to be thinking ahead, sanding this paint off to spray it back to stock if desired is much easier than extensive rust repair. The highest point on this vehicle with the bed down is the top of the cab at 7ft.
