1953 Ford Crestline VictoriaFlathead V-8Fordomatic Automatic Transmission On this auction is a 1953 Ford Crestline Victoria with a 239.4 cid, 110 HP Flathead ("L" Head) V-8 and the optional Fordomatic 2 speed automatic transmission. The engine isn't the numbers matching engine but it is a 1953 Flathead and it is the correct engine for the car. The transmission appears to be original to the car. I have decoded the serial number as follows: B3FV252649: B=239 cid 110 HP "L" head, 3=1953, F= Dearborn, MI Plant, V= Victoria, the 6 numbers following are the production number. The Crestline's and Thunderbird's were produced in the same plant so the serial numbers on both models are not sequential. The car will need a 100% restoration. The seats are original and the seat frames are in great shape but need to be reupholstered. The engine is not locked up but it has been at least 10 years since it actually ran so it will surely need to rebuilt. The transmission seems to ok but I'm sure it will need to be rebuilt. The body has a major dent on the driver side rear and the lower rocker panel on the drivers side is rusted through. All of the stainless steel body molding is here and there are extra parts in the trunk. The front floor boards have been cut out and replaced with steel sheetmetal. This car needs alot of work but also has a lot of potential to be a beautiful car if you are in the market for a project restoration. There is no warranty offered with this car. The seller reserves the right to end the auction at any time, the car is also for sale locally. The seller will deliver the car within 200 miles for a fee of $1.50 per mile round trip, and as far as 400 miles for $3.00 per mile round trip, beyond 400 miles is up to the buyer.
