Vehicle Detail

This 1947 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible is a wonderful example of cars from the fat-fendered era in automotive design. It is finished as original in a very pleasing yellow exterior with contrasting red leather seats and carpeting complemented by a two-tone instrument panel. The black Haartzcloth top is relatively new and professionally installed and has the original glass rear window frame. Never wrecked, no rust. The car is powered by its original smooth, quiet and reliable Cadillac V8 engine and Hydramatic transmission. These Cadillac drivetrains were well engineered and quite advanced for the era. They're battle-tested tough as they powered tanks during WWII. This 1947 Cadillac has classic elegance with the top up or down - it looks great either way. The bold grill is a work of art as are the subtle sweeping lines of the front fenders. The flowing lines are finished off with correct wide whitewall tires and "Sombrero" wheel covers. This rare 1947 Cadillac convertible although not in show car condition is of really nice driver quality and can be enjoyed and driven daily just the way it is. It would make a great candidate for a cosmetic restoration since it really only needs minor improvements and some detailing. It is one of those great finds that can bring true enjoyment now, and while you make subtle improvements during the course of your rewarding ownership. Simply put, it is a grand and stylish example of everything that was right about the late 1940's big American convertibles and is a pleasure to own and drive. To top it off, it is a true Classic automobile as defined by the CCCA (Classic Car Club of America). ***I have listed this car for a friend who is not a computer user.
