THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS A PARTS CAR. It is not currently running and needs an alternator and battery. The winning bidder will need to pick up and haul away the car themselves. What we have here is a nearly brand-new windshield attached to a decent parts car. This car has been in the family since new. It was given to me in July, 2006, and I used it as my daily driver until January, 2011, when the alternator died. The car was running when it was parked, but the alternator has not been replaced. The battery has since died due to inactivity. Because I have recently purchased another daily driver, I’ve decided to sell the Tracker. It is complete but not running. During the time that I’ve owned it, it ran like a top and took me on two state-wide photography tours of approximately 3,000 miles each (included drives through the Adirondacks), in addition to regular trips to Buffalo and Pittsburgh. The car never left me in the lurch and was still running as silent as a sewing machine when the alternator finally gave out. In November, 2007, the car was rear-ended while stopped in construction traffic. The accident bent the frame behind the rear axle. You can also see that the body has been buckled, and the rear sits a little lower than the front. Since the hit was pretty square on the back bumper, the ride is not cockeyed and tire wear is normal. The passenger seat is a little contorted from the accident. The car was totaled by my insurance company, but because it was still running fine and I needed a second vehicle, I bought it back and ran it until January 2011. I have never engaged the front drive so I can’t say how that is functioning. I’ve opened the top several times (not all the way, though, because that looked too fussy) and have replaced the passenger side roof clip with a new part. The top was replaced in 2006, shortly before I took possession of the car. It’s still in decent shape with no tears, just some splitting around the back window corners. The right rear corner of the top never seemed to fit quite right – the top seems a little too tight for the corner to stay on properly. The back window looks used and the zipper is coming away from the top in one corner. See photos to verify. At some point before I took ownership, the right rear corner struck a tree. The corner remains deformed and the gas filler door is missing. The tailgate does not open and I have never removed the spare tire. It is locked in place the key has been lost. The tires are still decent, with a good amount of tread. However, the car has been stationary for the past year. The windshield was replaced with a new item in July of 2010 as required by NYS inspection. With a little over five months of use, the windshield is still in like-new condition. Side windows are excellent. Upholstery is decent – used but no tears. Interior door panels are nice but need a thorough cleaning. Body shows typical Western New York rust. Repairs made during my ownership include: New exhaust pipes and muffler, May 2008 New starter, March 2009 Four new tires, June 2009 (at 169,982 miles) Replaced valve cover gasket, June 2009 Alignment, September 2009 New pads, rotors, and right front caliper, May 2010 (at 182,266 miles) New windshield, July 2010 If you would like to see the car in person, please contact me via eBay or call (585) 269-9484 or (585) 624-2633.
