Vehicle Detail
This is my 1975 Mazda Chantez, factory powered by a 360cc two-stroke oil-injected twin-cylinder front engine, 4 speed manual transmission, rear wheel drive with 10-inch wheels. The Chantez was produced for the Japanese domestic market (Kei class) from 1972-1977. It weighs about 1000lbs. Top speed is a reported 71-mph, but I've never tried it. The car makes for a fun drive. This one was imported in 2005 by a mini-car collector on the left coast and thereafter came to Harrisburg, PA, where I bought it. I always wanted a two-stroke car. I previously owned a DKW, but never got it running and my Subaru 360 was never road worthy, so I bought this. I've owned it two years. It always starts up, runs, drives and stops fine but the brakes may be a tad soft from sitting. (Its hard to tell, they're so tiny) I drove it to car show this past fall with zero problems. I dont drive it in winter. The Japanese writing on the passenger door refers this car's earlier days when it was associated with Kazu Auto Service in Hayama, Japan. This car is a good driver. It drives fine. I dont know if the paint is original, but it shows wear. The driver's seat is torn. The dealer installed Hitachi air conditioner is quite rare, but is not working. The odometer shows 46K but its in kilometers. The speedo does not work so the true mileage is unknown. The body is super solid, no rust. Glass is good, so are the tires. Its a clean, complete and authentic original car. Some new rubber bits came and will go with the car, as well as all books and original tools. I also have some service history from Japan and its import docs. The quirky roof rack shown in some of the photos is not included. I'm told the Mazda will fit in the bed of a pickup truck with the tailgate down, but I've not tried it. The fender wells may interfere. I'd expect you could drive it home a reasonable distance no problems or easily trailer it. Book specs say it is 1296mm (51 inches) wide and 2995mm (171.9 inches) long. Plan accordingly. Car is located in near Kutztown. Clear Pennsylvania title in my own name. No warranty of any kind. Email for an appointment to see the car. This car is being offered with No Reserve.
