Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a very clean 1979 Porsche 911SC. This car has 75,990 original miles and was owned by an import shop owner in northern California for 90% of its life. It was purchased 5-6 years ago with 74,500 miles on it. I am Adam Kottke, owner of the Seward Speed Shop, where I service and tune high performance German Automobiles. This is not my personal vehicle but I was asked by the owner to help him thin his collection. This car has been to my shop yearly for for the last five years for all routine maintenance. Brake fluid is changed yearly, oil is changed twice a year (Brad Penn oil only) even though the car sees less than 500 miles per year. The car was last serviced less than a week ago with, new Bridgestone Potenzas up front, (the backs are Bridgestone Potenza as well but were done just last year and look nearly new) new front tie rods, front and rear wheel alignment, replace valve cover gaskets, adjust valves, replace spark plugs, change oil & filter, replace fuel and air filter, change brake fluid and adjust CIS. The car runs like a million dollars. The engine is purely stock with only the air pump removed (I will throw the original air pump in to the new owner). Mechanically, this car runs and drives very well. The clutch was replaced before the car was sold to my friend here. It to feels very good and adjusts perfectly. The transmission service was completed last year as part of our routine maintenance, including CV joint inspection and re-grease and change gear lubricant. The interior is 100% factory original with nearly no flaws. The only flaw is a wear mark on the whicker floor mat under the brake pedal. Other than that, You wont find anything off of showroom condition. The exterior is very presentable for the year of vehicle. It has ZERO rust. This car was only driven in good climates and good conditions. Under no circumstances has it been exposed to salt or gravel roads. There is a small chip in the front windshield which could still be drawn out and filled by your local glass shop. This chip happened 2 weeks ago on the way out to my shop. The paint does show some signs of very light wear. I believe most of the car to have been repainted at some time. The front end has normal rock chipping in the paint, as well as your normal chips behind the wheel wells. There are some small scratches and chips here and there, but not deal breakers. The exterior is in average to above average for a 1979 Porsche. Plain and simply said... the car is not going to win you best of paint at your first car show you take it to, but everyone that sees it will be amazed at how clean it is. The pictures don't lie, it shines up extremely nice and always has a coat of fresh wax on it. Also included with the car, but not pictured is a near new Bra for the front end. It has only been on a few times and looks very nice installed. I will also throw in the original headlights and painted trim rings. The headlights on the car now are the popular Bosch Euros with chrome rings. This car can be viewed at any time by interested parties by emailing, texting or calling Adam at 815-222-0644. Our shop is located 80 miles west of Chicago Illinois. We may be interested in delivering the car to Chicago, Madison or Milwaukee area, but please contact us for pricing. I am also able to assist in shipping the vehicle from my end. I will not set up shipping as I do not have any contacts in that market, but I can be here whenever I need to for pick-up by the shipping company of your choice. On Jan-20-12 at 12:07:17 PST, seller added the following information: Just a quick update on the car. For the many people asking and others wondering, the color code is 443-9-3. The color on the car is original. The car does have the spare tire and jack but I am not seeing the original tool kit. We do have the original spanner wrench with the car. I was also going through some boxes of parts that will be sold with the car and found a new set of brake pads, some new sunroof guide parts, a sport shifter and some new filters and belts. I also have 3 extra Fuch center caps that will go with the car. They are the black caps with the porsche crest in black. As of now, We are not able to find the black key. The original red master key with the porsche pouch comes with the car. We will continue to look for the black key with no guarantees. On Jan-20-12 at 13:02:26 PST, seller added the following information: And another update. The owner did not want to sell the car without the key situation being resolved. He called our local Porsche dealer and is in the process of having a new key made. We may also be able to locate the tool kit. I will keep the buyer notified on that.
