Vehicle Detail

The accident damage/fire damage that shows up on the history report is from a small electrical short in the engine bay. The car was parked when it happened and the fire was put out very quickly with no exterior paint damage. I have the invoice from when the repairs were done and what was involved. The engine harness, vacuum lines, fuel lines and computer etc were replaced. The invoice is very detailed, the insurance company payed for the damage and that is why it shows up. I also spoke to the second owner who owned the car at the time and he explained that it was a minor incident and he would be more than happy to speak to any prospective buyers. This is a great driver quality 911SC with 122k miles, offered at no reserve. This car is absolutely rust free and has been in Northern CA since new, from 1981 to last year there were just 3 owners. It just passed CA smog and is ready for a new owner. I have a clean CA title in my name. I have receipts that go back to 1996 which show that the car has been professionally maintained and serviced, including a full trans rebuild/clutch kit about 22k miles ago. It never smokes or leaks oil in the driveway, starts up right away every time. The idle is smooth and pulls to redline like a 3.0 SC engine should. The only thing that doesn’t work is the cruise control, it’s intermittent. The A/C has been updated to R134, even the clock works! I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car across the country. Mechanically this 911 is very solid. The only issue it has mechanically is third gear can be a bit tricky. It never grinds or pops out of gear but sometimes it can be “notchy” or tight. 90% of the time it slides right into gear but it can be stubborn. The previous owner told me that it has been like this since the rebuild and he never bothered to have it checked out, it has not gotten any worse or better since than. The tires have lots of tread on them and the brakes are in great shape. The exterior I would say is a solid 10 footer. The car was repainted the original white about 4 years ago and honestly it’s not the best paint job. No signs of accident damage though, it was painted purely for cosmetic reasons. It’s shiny and looks good from a few feet back but they really did not do a good job of masking the trim, you can see some overspray when up close. The paint itself has held up well though and there are no dents on the car. There are 2 scratches on the passenger side quarter panel about 2” long, along with the standard rock chips on the front bumper. Also the Targa bar has been painted black and it did not hold up well as you can see in the pictures. The interior is in very good shape. There are no rips or split seams in the leather seats and the carpets are in great shape. The factory floor mats are protected by high quality Lloyd mats. The dash does have one long crack as well as another short one but both are covered by a dash mat. The rear shelf is in great shape and remains un-modified with the factory speaker perforations still intact. There is an aftermarket CD/MP3 player installed along with a 4 channel amp, polk audio speakers in the doors and a CD changer. The car has had some very good/costly updates by the previous owner. The original USA headlights which are very ugly and not very bright have been updated to the Euro spec H4 lights. Not only do they get rid of the ugly US “sugar scoop” headlight trim, they are also very effective and street legal. When the engine was out for the transmission rebuild some “while your in there” things were taken care of. The sound pad at the rear firewall was replaced with a new one and the chain tensioners were updated to the Carrera pressure fed tensioners. These tensioners are a must have for reliability and piece of mind. The air box was also updated with a factory pop-off valve, this prevents cracking the air box do to a backfire. Overall this is a very fun and reliable 911 at what I feel is very fair buy-it-now price. Feel free to message me with any questions or give me a call at 510-455-1161. I try to be very upfront when selling one of my cars and will try to answer your questions quickly and honestly. No surprises here.
