Vehicle Detail
1966 Ford Mustang Fastback...this has been my project since 2003, I have just lost steam, interest and time. The Fastback is approx. 85-90% complete, The 289 was bored .30 over and rebuilt. Way to many new items to list, basically the entire drivetrain is rebulit except for the 8 in open rear. It has a 5-sp from 1992 5.0 and manual rack and pinion steering. It has new floors welded in by Mid-County Mustang in Exton, PA. Lots of new sheetmetal. The car runds and drive but needs an alignment and brakes need to be bled. Pony Interior! ****UPDATE**** I always meant for this project to be a restomod, its is not concourse, if you are looking for concourse project please move on. The handbrake was relocated to a center mount between the seats for an improvement over the original location. In addition it has an X-Pipe Dual Exhaust and the original hand brake got in the way of the exhaust. The stang does run and drive; however, alignment is out as I never took to an alignment shop after installing the rack and pinion steering and there is air in the brakes. The car does steer and drive.... about once a month I drive it around my block. The car cannot be driven any great distance, I thougtht I conveyed that in my original posting, but I want to make that overtly obvious. I live in the suburbs of Philly about 30 miles due west of the city. The rear quarter panels behind the rear wheel have rust holes a small patch is needed. I have added more pictures. Email me with your questions.
