This is a nice XR400 that I bought new in 1999. It is currently licensed in Calif. through May.The bike has been maintained well and has been used twice a year for the past 10 years for the OC Dually rides in San Bernardino. It has also been used approximately 10 times for Sunday rides in Adelanto. It has been ridden and it has the normal scratches on the plastic and cases. It starts easily and runs like a Honda, probably will go forever. Other than service work, nothing has ever had to be done to the motor. The cases have never been apart and it runs, shifts and idles perfectly. I am an ex professional rider and a currently a vintage motorcycle restorer, so I do not abuse my bikes and I do take care of them. The only reason I am selling this is all of my friends have the new KTMs and I am finally going to buy one. Whoever gets this one will have a great bike to use off road or Dual Sport for a fraction of the cost of new. It has never failed me and still a pleasure to ride. It has several added Dual Sport items: Baja Designs light kit, all lights/ signals work fine, fender bag for tools, folding shift lever, rear disk brake protector,DID O Ring chain, skid plate,, new filtron filter element, it is fully licensed, stock pipe currently mounted, comes with a FMF Power Core IV exhaust which is louder but makes a bit more power, As for condition, the bike has a few scratches as I said but nothing terrible, Rims are razor straihgt, bars are new and straight, all cables perfect, seat perfect no tears, scratch on left lower fork tube, tires are new with 35 miles off road on them, brakes and fluid serviced recently and it stops perfectly, engine is bone stock and plenty of power, stock pipe has a 2" ding in the side of it. The only negative is rear shock has appeared to have lost it's charge and has little dampening and will need to be serviced. This will cost a couple of hundred dollars so please allow for that.
