Up for sale is my 2000 first generation Honda Insight. It is in good condition and has served me well. I have averaged 58/60mpg on the highway. You could get better mpg if you know " Hyper milling" techniques.The car is in great shape for it's age and mileage. The car has scratches/dings that are consistent for its age. The air blows ice cold, brakes/rotors/pads were done last summer. Tint on the car is "ceramic" that cost more than normal tint due to the percentage of heat is repels vrs regular tint. It has always had Mobil One 0w-20 synthetic oil it's entire life. Used to only be able to get it from Honda, now auto stores carry it. The car has the usual trasmission syncro issues. It shifts fine through the gears 1-5, but when you are downshifting it has syncro issues from 3rd to 2nd gear. Anyone that knows about these first gen Honda's knows this to be a common problem. I have found that if you pause a few seconds before putting it in 2 gear, it slides in just fine. The auto stop feature and IMA battery charging is in great shape. Battery was replaced before I got the car. No check engine light or IMA battery codes on the car. The tires have about 65% tread left. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere across the USA. It is extremely dependable and very cheap to maintain. It will save you Hundreds of $$ on monthly gas expenditures. 10.4 gallon tank =603 MPG average cost per gallon in TN $3.15 =32.76 to fill up.
