Vehicle Detail
1967 Plymouth Barracuda Formula "S" Fastback/Hardtop. This is a rare factory original 383 CI 4-Barrel car with a factory installed Four Speed Manual Transmission. This car is "not" a clone and it is "not" a tribute car. This car is an original 1967 Plymouth Barracuda with a number matching 383 4-Barrel engine and the number matching Four Speed Manual Transmission. The VIN on the title matches the factory riveted tag on the body. The VIN is as follows: HB29H72295469. The production numbers for this car are very low. 1967 was the first year that a big block engine was installed in the small "A-Body" Barracuda. In addition, very few came with a Four Speed Transmission. The reserve on the car is low. I will make every effort to clearly point out the positive and negative aspects of the car. The engine is the original number matching one with the identification "C383" stamped on the block. The engine is clean and turns with good compression. On the negative side, the engine is missing the headers, carburetor, distributor, and radiator. These parts were removed in an attempt to up grade the motor with after-market high performance parts. The missing parts with correct date codes can be found on the internet, but are relatively expensive. There is an aftermarket shift lever with a reverse "lock out" currently in the car. The original shift lever and linkage is in the trunk. It won't take much to get the car running and driving. The inner fender panels were cut to accommodate larger headers for more Horsepower. The car is an investment grade restoration project. The body is in very good condition. The floor pan and trunk pan are original and are uncut and are rust free. The car has almost no rust. It is a dry western car that has spent most of its time in Utah. The frame is dry and rust free. The doors, hood, and trunk open and close properly. The seams on the body align as the should and have the proper gaps. The windows roll up and down and all of the glass is good with the exception of a long crack in the front windshield. All of the trim for the car has been removed, but is in the trunk. This includes the "383-4Barrel," badges, the "Formula S," badges, rear chrome strips, etc. The original color is Madador Red. There are some minor rust bubbles on the driver's side rear fender in back of the tire well. I have taken close up photos of this issue, but they are small and the white paint makes it difficult to photograph. They have not yet broken through. The carpets have been removed, but clearly show the rust free floors. Please look closely at the photos. The interior is a mixed bag of excellent and poor. The front seats are very good. There are no tears or serious wear in the front bucket seats. The rear seat is in very good condition and appears to be hardly used. The rear seat folds down as it was designed. The headliner is bad and will need to be replaced. The door panels are serviceable, but have been cut for speakers. All of the door handles and window cranks come with the car. The rear panels that surround the hatch-back are in good condition, but are also in the trunk. If you have any questions, please email them to me and I will respond quickly. If you have less than 10 positive feedbacks in your Ebay Feedback Score, please email me before bidding. I want to be sure this is a good, straightforward, auction. I would like the auction to run the full ten days. Please look at my Ebay Feedback. I want the new owner to be satisfied with the car.A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of the auction closing. I'm not a car dealer. I just love old cars, but I have too many projects. Good luck bidding. I hope this car makes a wonderful Christmas present for a MOPAR fan. On Dec-11-11 at 19:06:09 PST, seller added the following information: The VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is important in the identification and value of my Plymouth Barracuda. I had the first two letters in the opposite position. The VIN is as follows: BH29H72295469. To answer these questions, the following clearly outlines the VIN number on my car: The "B" = Plymouth Barracuda. The "H" = High Price Class. The "29" = Two Door Hardtop. The "H" = 383 CI engine with a 4 Barrel Carb. The remaining numbers are the manufactured sequence of my car. This VIN number is printed on the "Original Title" and is clearly stamped on the factory riveted tag on the car's body by the driver's side door. I have the title in hand and there is a clear photo of the VIN number in my Ebay ad. I hope this additional information is useful.
