Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1965 250 Scrambler. This is the bike that I wanted to buy when I was 18 years old, but couldn't afford it. I'm now 65 aand have had it for about 7 years, and have had my fun with it. Considering it's age it is in wonderful, mostly original condition. The odometer reads 5806 miles, but I don't know if that is correct. I am going to try to give an honest appraisal of its condition as follows: Reproduction parts-Plastic tank badges, handlebar grips, seat cover, mirrors, fuel lines, some cables. NOS parts-Air cleaners, new clutch discs(only installed because I had them). Non appropriate parts-Tires, spark plug caps Most everything else is original including the chain guard and tank knee pads which have some minor cracking. The fenders are aluminum and have been repainted along with the tank and air cleaner covers in appropriate basecoat/clearcoat. The frame has been repainted in black urethane. There are no dents in any of the painted parts. The chrome is in generally very good condition. The wheel rims have some minor pitting but is not noticeable from more than 5 feet away. The bike does have a few needs as follows: There are a few small dents in the chrome portion of the rear shocks. The painted portion is in excellent condition. Needs kick start rubber Needs plastic knob for headlight high/low beam switch. Horn sound is weak. There is no tool kit or owners manual, but an original Honda shop manual is included. Please contact me if you have any further questions. I believe that my reserve price is quite reasonable as I have no reason to continue to own the bike. The bike is located in South St. Paul, Minnesota where it can be inspected. I cannot ship the bike but will assist you as I am able. I can store the bike for up to 90 days free of charge. I will need a $500 downpayment within 5 days of the auction end and the remainder at pickup or within 30 days of the auction end, whichever comes first. On Dec-10-11 at 15:05:53 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to include some of the most essential information. The bike starts easily and runs smoothly..The engine got new rings and pistons about 4500 miles ago, only because I already had them in my posession. On Dec-10-11 at 15:07:38 PST, seller added the following information: That should be 400 miles ago
