Vehicle Detail
I am seling my 1977 Dodge Aspen RT that I purchased from a Dodge dealership about 2 years ago. It has a 5.2 liter 318 motor, that according to the dealership had been rebuilt and currently has just over 81,000 miles. The dealership told me that the previous owner had done lots of work to the vehicle but traded it in for a new vehicle for whatever reason. I purchased the vehicle for more than what I'm selling it for, and am only getting rid of it because I don't have the time or know how to put in the effort that classic vehicles require, and rather than let the vehicle sit around and not get used, I hope that it can go to someone who will take care of it how I wish I could. The vehicle runs very good and starts up on the first try everytime. It has a push start button that is used in conjunction with the key. The vehicle has power locks with a remote for the alarm, which works great. As can hopefully be seen in the pictures, there is some minor cosmetic damage throughout the vehicle. There is slight fading on the hood, as well as a few chips in the paint that show slight amounts of rusting. The passenger and driver side are both missing silver trim, and there are small bolt holes visible. There is some fading along the light blue trim on the side, and slight fading in the paint at the gas cap where over the years gas has run down the side. There are slight dents and a few scratches throughout the vehicle, but nothing major. There are 4 Cragar rims with locking lugnuts with the key. All the exterior lights and blinkers work perfectly. The vehicle also has very good brakes. The interior dash has been redone, but the material that was used has never been finished being put in its proper place. as can be seen in some pictures. The rest of the interior is in very good condition and both driver and passenger seats have covers which match the rest of the car. The windows both roll down with no problems, and there is some slights scratching on the driver side window from being rolled down over the years. The steering wheel has some damage and was fixed using black electrical tape. The horn for the vehicle does not work, and I've tried fixing it myself but just don't have the mechanical know how to get it done. All 4 sets of seatbelts work great and there is padding on the driver and passenger seatbelts for the chest. All the interior gauges work fine, except for the original gas guage, though a new one that does work has been installed in its place. The CD player that is installed in the vehicle works great as well. There is AC for the vehicle, but it does need to be recharged. The heating does not work very well and I never drove it through the winter so I never bothered to have it looked at. Since owning it I did all the fluid changes on my own according to the manual, and just a few months after buying it I replaced the starter myself because it gave out. Since replacing it I have had no further problems starting the car. Just like any older vehicle, when first started it needs to run for a bit. It usually idles a bit high, then after about 5 minutes and a few times pumping the gas, it drops down to normal. The carburetor sometimes seems finicky and will cause the vehicle to idle just a bit high at stops, but I'm sure that it just needs a bit of adjustment, which I don't know how to do. It still has the original operator manuals, a manual for the alarm system, and two shop manuals, a Haynes and a Chilton. The title is clear and in my name. I'm not sure how many other owners the vehicle has had, but do know that at one point it was registered to someone in California. I am available for any questions you may have about the vehicle and will try to respond as soon as possible.
