Extremely clean and rust free 1970 Javelin SST. VIN AOC797N187425. 360 CI V8 Motor with automatic transmission. Runs excellent with no smoke. Odometer showing 82,556 but due to the year of the vehicle, sold as true miles unknown. Very nice restoration features such as excellent green metallic paint and gray cloth/green vinyl reupholstery including the dash and door panels. Floors, firewall, undercarriage, etc. are all excellent. Mechanically: Again, engine runs excellent. Not regularly driven for an extended time, this Javelin is a great example of an extremely low rust, dry climate car. But due to being mostly stored, brakes are marginal as can happen to drum brakes. Motor was supposedly rebuilt 30,000 miles ago, but receipts didn’t follow the car so this is not verified. The transmission was also gone through more recently, but has a ‘whine’ in first gear and neutral that decreases after warm-up. So obviously count on some transmission work and brake work. Motor has a Weber carburetor and updated aluminum intake manifold. Nice aftermarket mag wheels and very decent but older tires. Cosmetic and other flaws: Keys were lost long ago, though car will start without a key. So ignition switch rebuild, and trunk/ ignition key re-cut will be needed. Emblems on the trunk lid and left hand side vinyl are broken. Passenger glass is off track and probably needs a window regulator. Passenger door lock is not functioning properly though latch works. Right rear side glass has surface scratches that can be typical of this glass. Antenna and radio are missing. Windshield molding near right pillar missing. A very minor paint bubble about the size and shape of a matchstick on the RR deck lid area above the trunk lid. Surface scratches as shown on the doors, and other minor paint imperfections.
