Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a "Desert Find" numbers matching GTO, VIN#242177Z106081, project car in need of total restoration. I have verified the following engine related numbers. Head #670 correct for the 400cid 335 hp behind the distributor (numbers) 86133 which corresponds to the '67 400 motor and date code J296=October 29,1966, which is correct for the early model 67. On the front of the block passenger side 094254 YS, All numbers matching. The engine will not start and will require a complete rebuild. I have turned the crank and it is not frozen up. The car has sat for over 20 years and will need a complete restoration from bumper to bumper. This car has all the original parts on it as when it left the factory in California except for the air injection pump, front grille, and radio which I have taken off but will go with the car. The front grille will need to be replaced. The car is equipped with power steering, air conditioning, and radio. The a/c compressor is the original one with Final Inspection 'PONT' stamped on it. It has a turbo 400 automatic transmission with Hurst shifter. Being a desert car it is virtually free of rust, I have checked the floor pans, fenders, quarter panels, rocker panels and trunk and find no rust, but due to the design of the front and rear windshields the lower flanges are rusted and will need patch panels tack welded in. The panels can be purchased from parts houses like Year One or Original Parts Group - I have checked this out. I have wet sanded the complete car but could use a little more sanding. The car does have some body work that will have to be done but it is minor, nothing major. I have put on new weather stripping to trunk, door frames, window, and vent window. Factory Colors are Signet Gold exterior and Gold Interior. The interior will need to be replaced and the carpet. I have provided pictures with the interior in the car and also pictures without the interior to show that the car is rust free on the inside and the outside except for the two places common to the front and rear windshield area's. All glass is in good condition except for the front windshield which shows signs of defragmentation. This will make a great numbers matching GTO when the restoration is complete and I must state that this is a total restoration job. Payment must be in the form of a certified Cashier's Check and I will not release the car until the check has cleared my bank. So if you are looking for a solid 67 GTO this is the car for you. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and I will be happy to help load the car for transit. If you have questions you can reach me (Tom) at 316-619-9745. I wish you happy bidding and good luck.
