1985 BMW M635CSI Original Excellent Condition!!!! Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This is a great opportunity for the BMW enthusiast or collector to a acquire a very special car. This original Euro spec E24 M6 has been garage kept in California since purchase. It has been owned by the same gentleman since early 1986. Technically he is the second owner, however at the time of purchase the car only had approximately 700 miles. Originally this car was bought in Germany by the original owner who immediately shipped the car to the US. Sadly, shortly after it's arrival in the US in 85, the original owner had a heart attack and could no longer drive... therefore he sold the car to my client who has loved and cared for this car since... It has been very well cared for and it shows. This car is ORIGINAL. Finished in the highly sought after and rare color "Baltic Blue" you will not find many other M635CSI in this color combination. The paint still looks fantastic, the body is straight and NO RUST to be found.All of the original exterior rubber seals and gaskets look amazing, soft and supple with no cracks (with the exception of the door handle gasket, which is dried and cracked, see pic). Any other cosmetic flaws are very minor... you will see in the photos that there are two small dings in the front left fender. There are some chips in the paint on the front spoiler. Despite all of this, the overall impression of this car is outstanding. The all original interior is also very clean. The leather upholstery looks fantastic, there are no tears in the leather seats... I don't think the back seats have ever even been used. The headliner is also excellent with no tears or holes etc. If you are familiar with these cars, you will know that the Euro spec M635CSI is different and more sought after than the US model. Equipped with the more powerful 285 hp non catalyzed engine, the European model M6 was the second fastest BMW ever built in it's era(the M1 being the fastest). This "devil in a red dress" goes from 0-60 in 6 seconds flat with a top speed of 158 MPH! Although this car has been kept in California... it's performance has not been altered. The only addition that has been made was the installation of a lambda(oxygen) sensor to improve air fuel mapping. It still has the original European ECM. It has not been fully converted to California emissions as the owner did not want to hinder the cars performance. This has however resulted in an inability to pass California's strict emissions test... This will need to be addressed if the buyer is a California resident. A catalytic converter(and possibly other components) will need to be installed in order for this car to pass smog. Mechanically this car appears to be in excellent condition. It drives just as it did when new. Everything functions as it should. It is started and driven around the block (or taken for a quick "jaunt" through one of Malibu's many rural windy canyon roads... just to make sure the amazing suspension and handling are still up to par ;)...on a fairly regular basis. We are aware of a few minor things that will need a bit of attention... the hood shocks are worn out and will need to be replaced. The tires will need to be replaced before the car is driven for longer distances.This amazing car is sure to please.It can be made available for inspection locally.
