Vehicle Detail

1972 Chevy C-10 Deluxe Pick Up Truck 350 SBC Turbo 350 Automatic Trans Short Bed 4 Wheel Drive Power Steering Power Brakes Front Disc Brakes Custom Tube Grill New/re-chromed Front Bumper If you're looking to put together a nice truck then start with this one. The previous owner, my neighbor, past away a few years ago as he was starting to restore this PU. It was his weekend toy and was very well taken care of. It was never used as a work truck and hence the bed is undamaged. Its been sitting here in dry Nevada for about 9 years. Jim got as far as installing a custom chrome steel tube grill and had the front bumper re-chromed. Both are very nice. He was going to put a 400 BBC in it so he started to pull some parts off the 350 Chevy. He only removed the carb, distrib, alternator, power steering pump, fan, radiator and transfer case. When I acquired the the truck I found all of these parts in the garage, boxed and labeled with hardware bagged. I have since reinstalled everything accept the transfer case. The Turbo 350 trans was never removed. The one in the bed is mine and does not go with the truck. The exhaust is all there and in very good shape. It ran when it was parked and is very clean. Nothing is missing from the engine bay. I would expect it to start with little fuss. The OD reads 42,038 but I expect this to be 142,038 which would make sense as to why the original 350 was going to be replaced. We pushed the car to my house and I steered it. I can state that the brakes worked, the steering seemed tight and the e-brake works. Its not a perfect test but I'm pretty confident these parts are in serviceable order. The front windshield is cracked. On to the body, its sweet. The truck has its original Deluxe 2 tone yellow and white paint. There are NO DENTS! Anywhere! In fact, I could not find any parking lot dings...chips yes. No hidden damage. Every panel is straight. The underside is over 90% showing original paint. The top of the tailgate has some dings...3/8" and smaller. The top bed rails have some holes drilled for what was probably a small camper shell. Rust: the only rust is from paint scrapes/chips or normal wear like the door sills. The truck needs paint because it is oxidized and there are scrapes. The underside, quarter panels, fenders etc. are rust free. The fender lips have some surface rust where tires kicked up stuff. This is pretty small and only surface. The bed bottom has some surface rust where there were scrapes. There is NO ROT through on this truck other than...yes....the outer rocker panels. True to form the outer rockers on both sides have rust through. See pics. The inner rockers look solid. There is a small patch...maybe 6"x4", on the passenger floor near the rocker with rust. It's solid and will only need surface prep. The rest of the floor where I pulled up the carpet looks solid with mostly factory paint. The doors, hood and tailgate latch and close beautifully. All the panels line up very well. The windows go up and down smoothly. The wings open and close nicely. The bench seat has a cover but still sits nice. I will assume the upholstery is worn out...I have not looked under it. The weather stripping in general is still soft and doing its job. The white door panels are very good with some wear on the arm rests. There is a rear sliding window. The dash pad is very good with just a tad of small cracking. The glove box is intact and closes well. The gauges, steering wheel, turn indicator, switches blah blah blah...all nice. The vent/heater/defrost regulator is there but loose behind the dash...Jim was pulling out the stereo unit and had loosened the regulator to get at the deck. He died before he finished. The paint inside the cab is very nice...oh, you get a gun rack...how 70's!The mechanical's all look babied. Mostly still with factory paint. It does not appear to have been off-roaded. Even the frame rails up front have paint. The rear drums look almost newish with OE paint. All of the wheel studs are clean and thread properly. E-brake cables and mechanism work as required. No leaking wheel cylinders. The gas tank is in the cab so its not rusty. Lets see...whats left...the body trim is the upgraded dual row with the fake wood inserts. Its in very good shape. The only dinked up trim is on the tail gate. The short right lower rear trim piece is missing as is the drivers taillight bezel. Otherwise its all there. The front tube grill, headlamp bezels, turn signals are all excellent if not restored appearing. They may be new. The engine bay is spotless. Its painted black. Its 100% intact with even the windshield washer tank ready for service. The battery tray is not rusty or rotted like most. The horns are there...everything is wired. The harness is unmolested with intact factory wrap. The battery cables are clean. The OE smog parts are on the engine/air cleaner/carb with original air cleaner, Delco 11" brake booster, MC etc. All still showing nice paint. There is no rust in the engine bay anywhere. The factory tag is still on the drivers inner fender well as is the door tag. I have the original owners manual and a Chilton's repair manual. I think she's a sweetheart and would make a tow rig out of her is she was a 2x2.Title is clear, I don't have any keys. 3 tires hold air...4th will hold air for a few hours. You need to pick this up. $500 deposit within 2 days of auction close by PayPal. You can pay the rest in person or mail. Checks will be held 10 days to clear before pick up is allowed. Cashiers checks may clear faster. I'm looking for cash but would consider a trade on a model A Ford 2 Door Sedan street rod/rat rod project. Call or e- for more pics, I have tons. Ask questions please. I will go check on anything you may need to see or know. 775.220.5278 Dave - Pacific Time. Reserve is about half of what the truck is worth.
