This is a super-rare 1973 Ambassador Custom Brougham Coupe with 401 CID (6.6 L) V8 engine. This is a NUMBERS MATCHING engine and transmission! Although not in show condition, it is still in very presentable cruiser and local car show condition. The engine fires at the turn of the key – it has a nice rumble to the new exhaust that was just installed. The transmission shifts smoothly – no hiccups. It comes with power windows (all seem to work – slow, but they do work – except for the passenger front window), A/C, and teakwood accents. The exterior paint has a glass-like finish – again, not show quality, but certainly presentable – what a head-turner! Gets us plenty of thumbs-up and beeps and waves! No apparent rust or dents; there is one small scratch on the driver’s side fender (on top). There has been prior rust-work and paint work – it is not the original color. Then again, it’s not a brandy-spanking new car either – remember, it is a 40-year-old car. The chrome is very nice. The only “wear” that I can see is on the very top of the rear bumper – the rest is super nice. As far as I can tell, this is the original interior – the seats, although not new, are in very good original condition. It appears that there has been some stitching on the driver’s seat (certainly not terrible – very presentable). The door panels are very nice; there is a couple of pieces of interior trim that are missing (tried to take photos). The windshield is cracked on the lower bottom of the driver’s side – and there is a chip on the driver’s side (took photo ). The rear trunk cylinder is missing but can be opened up with a screw-driver; may want to have it changed (possible by any auto supply warehouse). There are not many of these 401 coupes around at all – in fact, this is the only one I have come across yet. The miles on the odometer show 56,119 – I would say it is probably original based on the condition of the car – the title does say EXEMPT due to it being over 10 years old. Please ask questions before bidding – not after. This car is being sold as-is where-is with no warranty either expressed or implied.
