This is such a cool old school car! We bought this car out of an estate sale. It was only driven around the block once a year for the last 12 years! The former owner stopped driving back in 1999, and just parked the car in thier heated garage. They kept the plates up until 2001. The car is in original, original condition. The spark plug wires are stamped 1978, the year it was made! The interior is in just beautiful condition. No tears in the like new headliner. The interior is all original. The exterior paint is original. The vehicle has 95k miles. After we got the car back to the lot, we put in a new battery, sprayed starting fluid in the carb, and it fired right up. The gas smells like turpentine,like the gas is pretty old. We will try and drive it out over the next week. I personally drove this car 56 miles on a round trip to another city and it ran good for a car with old gas in it. (Had a full tank when we got it). Engine is quiet, trans shifts great. Does not leak any fluids, does not smoke at ALL. Has old plugs, fuel filter, air filter, wires and will need a tune up for these reasons. Engine is as solid as a ROCK. Wipers, turn signals, fans, working good. They put an aftermarket electronic clock over the dash clock and it does not work. Has an Airglide dash mounted compass and works great. Carpet is excellent. Has front floor mats. I dont think anyone EVER sat in the back seats! Stitching on seats is still white on front and back seats! All auto glass is excellent. Windows roll up and down perfectly. 4 matching Tires. They are obvously old but look great with no dry rot on sidewalls and have like new tread. Brakes are excellent! All interior guages working, and no dummy lights are on. THIS IS A REAL NON-SMOKER INTERIOR with some great features, like dash mounted front and rear speaker controls, WORKING cruise control, remote passenger and driver mirrors, power remote trunk release and a funky trip tick machine from the 70's(?). The trunk is clean and all tire tools and original spare is still in car! All interior and exterior lighting is good. Heater works great on all fan settings. The a/c is operational and cycles but will need a charge of R12 freon. We recommend updating to 134. I will try and get to a garage lift to provide undercarriage pics soon. The underside is very well preserved. In terms of an unrestored original car, this gets an 8 out of ten. The outside vinyl top is outstanding. The outside body panels have oxidation/wear and 3 noticeable dents. One on the rear 1/4 on the drivers side and two on the passengers side(see pics). The dents appear to be from stuff in the garage, not accidents. The front bumper is excellent, the rear bumper is straight but has rust (see pics). There is minor rust near the rear wheel wells(see pics). We decided NOT to detail the car, including the engine compartment. This is how it came to us. This car will be an easy restoration project that you can enjoy for years to come:). We are Licensed Indiana Used Card Dealer. We are required to charge sales tax, just like Wal mart. The good news is this: We will provide you with a Certificate of Sales Tax Paid voucher good at your state's BMV. Yes, they will credit the amount you paid us. You dont have to pay it twice! We expect the buyer to pay and pick up vehicle reasonably quickly, meaning 10 days or less. We also expect buyer to contact us within 2 days of auctions end.
