All original 66 Chevy c-10 pick-up, long wheel base, step side. Straight 6 cyl that starts right up and runs great, with a 3 speed 'on the tree' manual transmission. The shifter is cranky and needs some attention (can't seem to get shifter to pass through the gate on the column to get to 2nd and 3rd speeds--though they do work, as does 1st and reverse), otherwise this truck runs, drives, and stops just fine. It spent the last few years as a farm truck here in Texas. Has some rust in the usual places, but still looks pretty good from 20'. The previous title was from Florida. As a result, we had to have a Texas State inspection done in order to get the title transferred. All the things to pass inspection (get turn signals working/rewire, headlights, wipers, brakes, etc.), along with a completely new clutch and carrier bearing for the drive shaft were done professionally at a local shop that specializes in restorations of classic American cars and trucks. $2500.00 was spent to accomplish all of this within the last couple of months. Note: Mileage is exempt in Texas due to vehicle age, and we have no idea of actual mileage. The truck was just inspected and passed (expires 8/12), and registered and tagged (through 7/12). The new condition Texas YOM (year of manufacture) license plates, "1966 Truck" are NOT included in this auction, but let us know if interested, we will sell them separately. It is registered as a Classic Truck. (NOTE: YOM plates in Texas will now only be titled as Antiques, with driving and use limitations, according to the State of Texas. Having it registered as a Classic with YOM plates before the Sept 1st deadline means no limitations on use--can even be used commercially). CLEAR TEXAS TITLE in my name. It is a 45 year old, all original vehicle,so it is probably not advisable to drive highway speeds for an extended period, and until the shifter issue solved, will need to be trailered.
