Up for sale is my brother's 1998 Toyota RAV4. I'm selling it for him as he is preparing to move overseas. On Nov-08-11 at 19:49:29 PST, seller added the following information: A little more description of this vehicle. My brother purchased this car 6/30/04 with 85,286 miles. You can check the vehicle history report and see that it's been a southern vehicle all of it's life. There is no rust on the car anywhere. There are normal chips and dings as befitting it's age and mileage. It has an automatic transmission, All Wheel Drive, power door locks, power windows, power steering, A/C (ice cold), and cruise control. The interior is clean with no tears in the upholstery or carpets. The Michelin LTX M/S tires still have over 3/4 tread life left. All of the door windows have VentShade visors installed on them. There was a bent wheel on the car, and 7 years ago, there was not the proliferation of wheel straightening services that there are now. We found that these special O.Z. wheels were no longer avaiable from Toyota, so we sourced a used wheel. We decided to go ahead and get 2 used wheels since we may not be able to find one at a later date if it was needed. We have never needed it, and it is included with the vehicle sale. Ebay has it listed as having a sunroof, but it does not have a sunroof. I am a professional automotive technician, and I have done all of the maintenance on this vehicle. I have service records and receipts for all of the work that has been performed. It has had all synthetic fluids since he bought it. I switched the engine oil, transmission fluid and differential fluids to synthetic lubricants. I performed a complete timing belt service at 86,282 miles which included the timing belt, drive belts, water pump, thermostat, tensioner, idler pulley, and front engine seals. The timing belt will not be due to be replaced again until 176,282 miles. New front brake pads, calipers, and brake hoses at 139k miles, new fuel pump at 129k miles, and new Interstate battery at 119k miles. It will have a fresh synthetic oil change, new muffler and VA state inspection before the winning bidder picks up the car. The car drives well and goes down the road straight. It gets approximately 25 miles to the gallon. The 4WD/AWD works perfectly is what little snow we have gotten in Virginia. There are a few things that aren't perfect. There is a dent in the left front fender courtesy of one of the neighborhood kid's ball games. It looks like it could be pushed out from the back, but I have not tried. There is a parking lot ding in the right front fender. I have tried to show these as clearly as possible in the photos. The right rear door lock does not always unlock when activated. The cruise control stalk sometimes has to be wiggled to get the cruise to activate. These are honestly the only faults that I know of. A pre-purchase inspection is welcomed and encouraged. On Nov-13-11 at 06:19:15 PST, seller added the following information: A quick update on the vehicle. I stated that the vehicle would have a new muffler. Well, both muffler sections had a hole in them, so I replaced the front resonator and the rear muffler. All of the exhaust behind the catalytic converter is now new. I just changed the oil, replaced the air filter and will have a new VA State Inspection on Monday. Also, I over-estimated the tread depth on the tires. I had said that the tires have over 3/4 tread left, and that is not true. The front tires have approximately 8/32" of tread and the rears are approximately 7/32". New tread depth is 12/32". My brother also wanted me to mention that is has the Toyota accessory clock, which did not come in all of the Rav4's.
