Audio Player Copyright 2009 Ver2.04 You are bidding on a 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe – an un-restored survivor from Ford’s most successful line of passenger cars since the introduction of the Model A. It is in need of a full restoration and would be a good base car for restoration project purposes, and you can drive it while you're working on it. Please take the time to carefully review each of the pictures in the slideshow below, which accurately display the condition of the car. This vintage Mustang, showing just 66,300 odometer miles, reposed in my Dad’s warehouse for a number of years until a few weeks ago when I decided to get it out, clean it, fire it up and put it in drivable mechanical condition. He had acquired it to eventually disassemble and restore it, but health issues prevented his ability to tackle the job. It is a little hard to start, but it never fails to do so, and after it does, it takes right off and floats down the road. It still has its original factory drivetrain – the 200ci six cylinder engine with the three speed manual transmission, which sometimes sticks when shifting from first two second. The '66 Mustangs were very slightly restyled. Most noticeably, a floating horse was added to the front grille. Other changes for the '66 model included a redesigned gas cap, bright hood lip molding on all models, rocker panel moldings, back-up lights, and redesigned side chrome spires. along with revised style steel wheels. All of these features are present in this car. Although the car has been repainted turquoise (a color hard to accurately photograph) it’s factory color was biscuit beige, as can be easily seen in one of the door jamb slide show photos. In addition, the photos of the hood, top and rear decklid will show swirls from waxing that appear in the paint. Major advantages: · New carpet kit, front to back. · New floor mats. · New seat covers (passenger side has a small chip in seat). · Original drivetrain. Other special items: . Original Mustang hubcaps (one is missing center cap). Original driver’s side rear view mirror. Original ashtray in dash. Original AM pushbutton radio (inoperative). . Original front grille with floating pony emblem. Original gas cap. Original turn signal lenses. Original sunvisors. Original door pulls and window cranks. Original ignition and trunk keys. Mechanically, the drivetrain and all other mechanical and electrical systems have been inspected and adjusted. The engine sounds good. Here is a summary of recent work performed: Fresh oil New plugs New points. Timing adjusted. Brake system inspected and adjusted and repaired. New front brake shoes. New front wheel cylinders. New rear wheel cylinders. Parking brake re-built. New 12 volt battery. New fuel filter. New fuel pump. New fuel sender. New fuel hose. New coolant. New water pump. All exterior lights are in working order. Fuel gauge and odometer work properly. Speedometer and other dash gauges are inoperative.
