Hello I have a 1958 4 door Edsel for sale. This car was my dads, he was in the process of restoring it before he past away. The engine turns over. I will be buying a new batteries this week and work on the car to get it running to make sure it can drive. But with the tires in the condition that they are in I will not be driving it except to move it out of the yard. 3 of the the 4 tires hold air for a few days one tire leaks and goes flat within a hr or 2. The body is not horrible. There is some rust holes on the bottom of the panels that will need to be fixed. I have most of the chrome strips that go along the body of the car. The fenders look good no major rust. The interior looks nice. No major rips or sun fading. The car was driven home a few years ago. The gas tank leaks, right now there is a small gas can in the truck for gas so my dad could drive it home. He started doing some of the panels on the driver side. I have lots of pictures available or if you would like to see the car just ask. I was thinking about keeping it and doing the work to it my self but I just do not have the time. I would rather see this car on the road than in my back yard. I have a title for this car. 11/15/2011 Today I started the Edsel. The engine sounds very strong. There doesn't seem to be any hesitation when you give it gas. There is no rod or valve noise. I had to jump the starter solenoid because that was not working. Like i said before the engine runs of a gas can because of the leaking gas tank. I also found out that it is stuck in drive. The push button shifters don't seem to be working. I will do some online searching for fixes to that problem tonight and try and fix that tomorrow.
