Prior to its official launch at Frankfurt, three aluminum-bodied prototypes were entered at Le Mans, with two finishing the race. As a result, the MGA was launched with a solid competition pedigree, ensuring its acceptance in the market and the United States in particular, where the bulk of production was destined. The beautiful red roadster presented here, with a beige and black interior upholstery, was the recipient of a ground-up restoration some time ago and continues to present itself in excellent condition! This 1958 MGA truly embodies the essence of British motoring, and is fully capable of being driven distances and displayed with great pride. It is handsomely completed with a black convertible hood, beautiful brightwork throughout, side windows, tonneau cover, luggage rack, wire wheels, Thor hammer, knock-off wrench, service manuals, and driving gloves and spare tire and wheel. The original SU carburetors with manifold come with the car but have been replaced by a more efficient and reliable Weber carburetor. A well sorted undercarriage complements the tidy engine bay and storage compartment as expected.
