Vehicle Detail

This car is a nice barn find that I acquired a few years ago and have since become more interested in restoring old tractors. I have had a Corvair mechanic go throught the motor and replace all oil seals and give the motor his approval as a good running motor. He also replaced the brake shoes, springs, flexible lines with parts from Clark's Corvair. The car stops good and has no braking problems.I have seen no leaks anywhere and the motor is strong. There is a small exhaust leak and carb overload but after the motor warms up it runs smooth. These corvairs are cold natured and all need to warm up and let the carbs unload before smooth operation. The glass is all there, but there is a crack in the windshield that does not bother you when driving and is repairable with the new methods available today. The tires are OK but should be considered rollers only as I would not head out on a trip with them. The paint is a 20 footer. It has a few bubbles and should be repainted to be perfect. There are rust small throughs inside the trunk and the under side has some but no rust throughs visible on the outside, there has been some bondo work as most of this time period have. It has original seats and upolstery that looks great and does not need replacing, the carpet is good but not original. The original radio and all interior knobs are good. I do not know if the radio works as it has no aerial on it. There are no major dents on the body. It is a 4 speed manual that is stiff from non-use but all gears are operating. There is some rust in the convertible top well and it needs a top cover but all bows are there and the top goes up and down with no problem. This car may never be Concourse ready but would make a fun ride car for car night. I have started the car out at what a good, mechanic approved engine is worth and would like to see some one enjoy it insted of sitting in my garage. The doors are good and no alignment problems. Motor cranks up the first second you hit the key. This is not a 10 car but a good mechanically running 5 car, ready for the added TLC to be a 8 car.On Nov-19-11 at 12:42:28 PST, seller added the following information: Pics added showing top rails and top up. Goes up easily and hooks properly.
