1948 Custom DeSoto 4dr Suicide doors I'm selling a nice 1948 DeSoto take a look at the pictures. It has lots of chrome. I do have the flying Lady hood ornament that goes with it. In the trunk it appears to have its original jack and the jack handle the tire block and the jack base is the plate that hold the wheel onto the tire trunk holder. There is some rust out in the bottom of the spare wheel holder. The car appears to have its original seats,carpet the floors and back of the trunk appear to be solid and don't appear to have anything wong with them. The right rear fender has damage to it so you will need to either hammer it out or replace it. I have to many projects and the wife says something has to go so I have this fantastic car for someone to restore you will like this one. All the gauges are there. It appears to have the orignal flat head 6 and the hard to find oil bath air cleaner. It has what appear to be the original fog lights. The drivers side windshield has a crack in it. The odometer says 62,151 but I'm not sure if that's been rolled over or if its original miles. I was told the car has been stored inside for about 12 years and was running when they stored it but I can't confirm that. The vehicle comes with a bill of sale. I think i have covered most of the conditional issues but this unit is being sold "as is" with no guarentee or warrenty. The buyer will expected to arrange for shipping at there expense. Dear rowdydog700, Customs came standard with Fluid Drive, which is a 4 speed automatic, with a clutch, not a manual. The clutch is used only to select range, (Drive, Lo, etc.). Normal driving is done with the gas and brake, just like a modern automatic. The only difference is you have to lift your foot off the gas for it to upshift. PS: Drive, Lo, and Reverse are found in the same places as they are on a manual transmission. There is no equivalent for 1st.
