Vehicle Detail
This is truly a one of a kind bus. Over a 2 year restoration, nearly $80,000.00 invested, and over 1,000 hours of work. THAT'S RIGHT $80,000.00. I know, who puts that kind of money in an old bus? Apparently me. I planned on keeping this Bus forever, so I spared no expense. I think the pictures will tell all. Unfortunately for me this economy has forced me to sell this unique little Bus. Fortunately for you, you can own a really cool 65 Bus for a fraction of what it would cost, if you undertook this project from the start. The Bus is complete with a reconditioned front axle, reconditioned trans axle, new clutch and pressure plate, Brand New 1600cc engine ( I mean, brand new, every part inside and out is a factory new part) All the accessible nuts and bolts on the entire Bus were replaced with stainless steel. The bus was completely stripped down to bare metal and all rust was cut off and replaced. Most off the parts were available aftermarket through BUSTORATIONS, but some had to be fabricated. No matter whether the part was available or not, if it had rust on it, it was replaced. Then the bare metal Bus was completely covered with ospho at least 3 times to assure that in the event something hidden had some surface rust of some sort, it was nutralized. At that point we started doing finish body work. It was then that the Bus was epoxied and primed. To go the extra distance, the entire underside was sprayed with POR 15 and sprayed with bed liner material. This way you don't have to be afraid to drive it, and a rock or some type of road debrie come up and chip it to expose the metal to the elements. This also acts as an awesome sound deadener. We then custom fabricated the round windows to try to make it look factory. All the glass and rubber are brand new. Ok, from there each part of the Bus was block sanded and primed until I was happy with the finish. Every part was then painted individualy with single stage paint reassembled, resanded and a base coat clear coat applied. At that point the Bus was wet sanded with 800 grit paper and the the graphics applied, 4 more coats of clear were then applied (and not the cheap clear) we used Nexa clear which runs about $100.00 a sprayable liter. Do the math, there are thousands of dollars worth of material on this Bus. After the Bus was reassembled it was injected with corrosion protection. Believe me , this Bus is restored to last a lifetime!!! Ok, now the fun stuff. The iterior is custom made and covered in leather and suede. It is equipped with a state of the art stereo system witch includes, 2 - 12in subwolfers hiddenunder the rear seats, 4 - 6in mid-wolfers, 4 - tweeters and 2 outside surround sound speakers (you know, for the shows). 3 amps., 2 Optima batteries and a storage cell (so not to run down the batteries). The deck come complete with HD radio, a life time subscription to Sirius satellite radio (already paid for) and mp3 hook up. On top of this there is a separate radio and 6 disk CD changer in the back that runs through headphones, a 24in flat sceen HD tv that has its own DVD player and an X-BOX with 2 controllers, a flip down 9in flat screen with a seprarate DVD player (all of witch runs though separate haedphones). Also equiped with Navigation and back up camera which includes still camera technology. PHEW, I think that just about covers everything. I'm sure there's something I'm missing, but you get the point, this is one cool Bus!!! Ok, I new I would forget something. The bus has been converted to disc brakes as well. Also includes the roof racks and a relly cool matching surf board that is mounted on the racks. I can email more picks if you need. I have plenty.
