Here's the story on this truck...Back in 2005, I was interested in finding a salvage truck that was low mileage and had only body damage. I signed up with a guy that had access to the Copart auctions where many of the insurance totaled out vehicles go. I got this from the Dallas, TX auction in August of 2005. The project has never happened and I need the room in the barn where it has been stored since then. I have used it for some local jobs hauling dirt, etc so it has been run. I got it with 27,231 miles and it now has 27,320. It has a West Virginia salvage title that states not actual mileage and flood damage. I have seen no signs that either of those statements are true...the mileage is consistant with the truck's condition-it checks out OK as I have driven it here- and there is no signs of flood damage. Copart set it on the trailer with a forklift in Dallas and I started it up and drove it off back here in Illinois. Carfax says 7/24/02 first registered in WV, 9/22/04 accident in harrison county WV. Look at the pics closely and bid accordingly, I will try and present this to the best of my ability but I am not a trained autobody guy and the terms of the sale are as is/where is. It has always needed a longer than normal crank time to start when it is cold, but fires right up when warm. The batteries were great until this fall, they will need to be replaced but it starts with a charger. That's about the only things I have found that is abnormal, other than the obvious body damage. This is a 6 speed manual transmission, 7.3 Powerstroke 4wd long bed truck. Find a 2002 with a good body and high mileage, put that body on this truck and you've got a great deal....try and run the Blue Book on a similar truck and you will see what I mean.
