Up for sale is my daughter's 2001 Jeep Wrangler. This vehicle was hit in the driver's side rear quarter while parked in front of my house by a teenager (I suspect he was texting while leaving the neighborhood). The boy's father is a doctor and stroked me a check for everything I had in the vehicle ($10,000) so no insurance claim was made and I have already replaced the vehicle with a truck I purchased on eBay. I purchased this Jeep Wrangler less than 2 years ago on eBay for about $8,500. The vehicle ran great, 4 wheel drive engaged nicely, top is in very good condition and works great, interior is in very good condition and the body was in excellent condition for a vehicle of that age. I just put in a brand new a/c unit 1 month prior to the accident - it was a rocking vehicle. The only issue was I had to occasionally add power steering fluid. Other than that, I have had no problems with the vehicle..... and then the accident. After the accident I have only driven the car into and out of my driveway but you need to plan on having it towed unless you live across the street from me. What you see is what you get. Assume it will not run. I have no idea the extent of the damage other than what you see. Three of the four tires appear to be in excellent condition - one went flat and I swapped it for the tire on the back. My daughter wanted the sticker on the driver's side door to stay on but it will come off as there was on on the other side that I easily removed. I installed a high end stereo system that will NOT transfer with the car. I will leave the sound bar with speakers that came with the vehicle but the radio, equalizer and sub will be removed so there will be no tunes unless you can sing. I have priced Jeep doors just to gauge the scrap value of the vehicle and this could be a real steal. If you have access to a shop, you may be able to fix it and you will have a clear title! I have no idea if the frame or axel are damaged but to be safe I would assume they are both damaged. However, if you look at picture 15 (picture of the damage) notice the bumped is mostly metal and that metal bumper is connected to the frame. The bumped becomes plastic on the outside just beyond where it connects to the frame. The impact was just outside the metal part of the bumper so only the plastic part of the bumper was damaged which is outside of where it connects to the frame. The metal part of the bumper appears to be untouched. That DOES NOT mean the frame is not damaged. As stated above, the impact did flatten the left rear tire and I can't tell if there is axel damage so assume there is.
