Vehicle Detail
Up for your consideration is a 1976 Triumph TR6 that I purchased several years through Ebay with the intentions of restoring but due to my wife’s long battle with cancer, I never got the opportunity to spend time on the project; however, I was able to accomplish a few things. The vehicle appears to be all original. Here is a brief overview of the basic condition of the vehicle and a few things that I’ve done so far. Drive train: As far as I know the engine is original to the vehicle and runs well. The car was running when I purchase it; however, the carburetors needed rebuilding so that was one of the first things that I tackled. All of the basic ignition components were previously installed by the previous owner i.e., spark plugs, condenser, rotor, and points. Will need a battery. The transmission seems solid and shifts through all gears without any issues. There’s no clutch slippage or grinding of the gears when shifting at all. The exhaust system will need to be replaced as well due to various leaks throughout the system. The front brakes were replaced along with new rotors, brake lines and brake calipers. The rear brake shoes were replaced as well. Wheels and tires are in decent shape; however, I replaced the dry rotted redlines with a set of used tires just so that I could drive it around for testing; unfortunately, they are a little wider than normal and should be replaced at some point. Exterior: From what I can tell the paint is original; however, it definitely needs a repaint. I’m no expert on body work but from what I can tell the body appears to be in good condition from what I can see. There are no dents of any kind; however, I can’t tell you if there’s been any previous body work done in the past; however it doesn’t appear to have been. There is some surface rust just around the front grill area. The rest of the exterior panels appear to be rust free. All exterior lights and turn signal indicators work as they should; however, there may be a few bulbs missing from the taillights. Headlights are brand new. Tail light lenses will need to be replaced due to cracking etc. Additional Info: Also comes with black convertible top including replacement frame, full tanneau cover and convertible boot cover, which are black as well. Comes with a set of new black center caps. Interior: The interior is black and looks to be original as well. Here is a list of things that I have already completed as well as my additional findings. Replaced entire dashboard – includes new wood dash insert, upper and lower dash panels. Purchased new door handle set – includes door handles, window cranks and all associated hardware. Purchased New Carpet Kit – Needs to be installed. There is surface rust on the floor boards and it appears as though there was some type of repair done to the passenger side floor board. Not 100% sure though. Additional info: If memory serves me right all instrument lights, gauges and switches function as they should. Also has the original am/fm/cb radio that still works as well. Right and left side door glass Windshield will need to be replaced. Finally, The trunk appears to be solid with no visible rust; however, the chassis has surface rust with severe rust around the rear control arms that will need to be addressed. This would be a great project for someone who has the time and patients; however, I don’t have either at the moment. Please email with any additional questions and I’ll try my best to answer them as quickly as possible. The vehicle is being sold AS-IS where is and the pickup and transportation is the responsibility of the winning bidder. The vehicle was never registered so the car would need to be towed to your location. I have a clean title in hand. A $500 dollar deposit is due 48 hours after the auction ends with the balance being due 7 days after auction ends; however, I can be flexible within reason. I accept cash, personal checks, money orders or cashiers check; however, I will not release the car until all funds have cleared my financial institution. This can take anywhere from 7 to 21 days… So thank you for your interest and happy bidding.
