Outstanding Preservation!... 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Chassis No. 1Q87L9N513009 The second generation Chevrolet was longer, lower, and wider than the first generation Camaro, and is "widely considered the best all-around domestic muscle car ever produced." GM engineers have said the second generation is much more of "A Driver's Car" than its predecessor. Changes for 1979 included a restyled instrument panel with a much flatter appearance than the previous wraparound design. The Z28s now came with a front spoiler and fender flares much like its Pontiac Trans Am twin had, and now came with "Z28" decals that ran from the beginning of the front flares to the bottoms of the doors. Electric rear window defroster became optional this year, replacing the old blower type. Highly equipped and special delivered to GM Parts Division, as a company car for a GM Parts representative, this one-owner 1979 Camaro Z28 is a prime example of the late 2nd generation F-Body! According to the original documentation, options included t-tops, factory A/C, AM/FM stereo, defrost, tilt steering and aluminum wheels among others. This beautiful Camaro looks absolutely stunning and performs just as nicely! The cabin’s pristine upholstery and trim remains largely original, while the carpeting and headliner have been replaced. All components work as they should but the A/C needs to be serviced. The odometer displays 81k original miles from new. The engine compartment is very clean and detailed and the under carriage shows very nice. The car was restored in 2007 by the original owner. This included new paint, trim, engine out rebuild including the carburetors and cylinder heads. The trunk still displays the factory space-saver spare, tire inflator, t-top covers and jack assembly.
