Vehicle Detail
1964 CHEVROLET CORVETTE STINGRAY ROADSTER This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Roadster comes with a long list of upgrades and performance parts, which makes it “Definitely Cool”. When you look under and around the car, you can see the attention to detail. I’ve owned this car since March 2005 and have had it apart most of the time for restoration work. Since the new paint job was completed in July 2007, I’ve put less than 2,000 miles on it. The previous owners have done numerous enhancements including a frame off restoration, again evident when you look under the car. At that time a “VPB Performance Plus” suspension system was installed, fully adjustable front and rear for street or track(replaced with latest restoration). New carpet was also installed. In June 2004 the car was fitted with a new ZZ383/425 Stroker Crate Motor, from Chevy, with 425 HP @ 5400 RPM, 449 FT LBS of torque at 4500 RPM, forged steel crank, hydraulic roller cam, forged piston rods, aluminum fast burn heads with center bolt valve covers, new fly wheel, one piece-four bolt rear main, 9.1:1 compression, heavy duty powdered metal rods, Holley 750 cfm double pump carb with Vortec manifold. Other items installed in June 2004: Power steering conversion kit, blast and titanium coated Hooker headers with Flow Master 3 chamber mufflers and a new Quartz clock kit. In August 2004, a new custom aluminum radiator and shroud was installed. Then in September, new Bilstein shocks(replaced with latest restoration). Installed in November 2004, a new Tremec TRG-R05009A Keisler 650HP/650FT LB 5 speed trans, complete with 26 spline performance clutch disc brakes, 500 LB rated and a MSD 6A high performance ignition system. Other improvements made in 2005 include a new glove box assembly with new door and insert, new half shafts and “Vintage Air” conditioning. Also, the convertible top frame was completely refurbished and a new A1 Knoch Vinyl Top was installed. In 2007, a Concourse quality refurb was performed on the instrument cluster and new seat covers (including new foam, burlap and hardware) were installed, as well as a new radio and speakers. As mentioned previously, the new paint job was completed in July 2007. (The car also comes with the hard top and all of the receipts for work performed and parts installed). There are many other, smaller items not included on this list, but all documentation is available. This Corvette is a fantastic driver and it’s a real “head turner”. It’s fast and handles beautifully! It will make a fine addition to anyone’s collection or the perfect start to a new one. This car has been driven very little by the current owner and the drive train has less than 10,000 total miles on it. Speedometer shows 17,000 which was set by the instrument cluster restoration company which it was showing when they received it. As of June 2009, many of the Corvette’s fiberglass body issues inherent with older cars have begun to surface. All of the factory weak spots are appearing; however the car is still stunning. Serious collectors know of the issues, if you’re new to old Corvettes, you will quickly learn about them and what is required to keep them at bay.. Although still presentable condition, a full body off restoration was started in November of 2009.by renowned Corvette Care of Sacramento, know mostly for show car restorations, they took on this restro rod build as a full restoration combining performance and drivability with the classic look of a 1964 Corvette. The build included the following enhancements to the Corvette: Powder coated frame and suspension Conversion to QA1 coil-over front shocks and QA1 Rear Shocks Show quality paint – back to original color Rebuilt or replaced all frame, suspension and fuel/brake components Re-chromed and polished stainless as necessary. The restoration was completed in October of 2011 at a total cost of close to $150,000. A cross between a 1964 Corvette and a modern show car quality driver with modern suspension, a high performance engine (383 Stroker), high performance transmission (Tremic 5 Speed) and modern touches such as air conditioning, power steering and power brakes. All reciepts for the upgrades by the past owner and myself come with the car. There is a very extensive list of changes and upgrades. Buyer is responsible for for all shipping charges. Car will be shipped when payment is made in full. INTERNATIONL BIDDERS WELCOME
