This AUCTION IS BEING RELISTING, Due to a Non Paying, Winning Bidder! If your Ebay Feedback is LESS THAN 20, Call me before bidding to avoid being removed from active bidders. 1966 Pontiac Tempest Custom - Nearly all original, 326 engine, 2 bbl, Powerglide Transmission (2-spd), Power Drum Brakes, Power Steering, Bench Seat, Factory A/C car. This is a 2-Door Hardtop! I am the 1st owner outside the original family that purchased the car. The original mileage is correct! Still has the Original Owner's Manual, Warranty Manual, and Protecto Plate. When I purchased the car it had been garage kept never driven in the snow. It was in need of a new battery at the time of purchase since they hardly drove the car. I also dropped the fuel tank cleaned it, replaced the fuel pump, all rubber lines, kitted the 2 barrel carb, fresh oil, filters, anti-freeze, New Points, Condensor, Cap, Rotor, charged the a/c (It Works!), installed all new Moog coil springs, it already had new shocks, front end aligned, Installed New Ignition Switch, bought the Rally II wheels that have been sandblasted and powder coated, new trim, New B.F.Goodrich Radial T/A's, 255/60/15 rear and 235/60/15 up front, dual exhaust installed with Walker Dynomaxx Mufflers, not loud, just a nice Deep Tone. Heavy Duty rear anti-sway bar was added. This car was originally Bronze in color and back in the 80's the family had a fresh coat of paint put on and it looks more like the Tiger gold. As you can see the top flat surfaces are faded now. This car still turns heads every time I pull it out of the garage. You cant go anywhere without someone asking about the car. The interior is all original including the carpet and headliner and the only real signs of wear is the drivers side of the seat where you slide in the seam is starting to pull. The drivers side arm rest pad also shows wear. (see pics) The dash does not have a crack, all the glass is good and is factory tinted and shaded on the windshield. All lights etc. work. It is factory equipped with the old tick-tock clock but it works when it wants to, L.O.L. This car has only minimal rust for being 45 years old! The floors are amazingly clean as is the frame, no rust scale. It has no undercoating to hide anything. The back window does have two small spots in the corners that will need repaired and it has caused some minor rust in the trunk but it doesnt need much work at all compared to most old A-Bodies. (you can see they had applied some sealer on the outside to seal it) The car is Very Straight and Never Been Wrecked. There is one door ding on the drivers door ( I am talking a door ding only) and some minor chipping of the paint (no dents) on the passengers door where the elderly lady got in and out of her pickup while the car was in the garage and thats about it! The chrome is amazing on this car, little to no pitting or damage. This car is an Original Beauty! She can be Cruised, driven and enjoyed As Is, Restore to Original, or create a GTO Tribute. This car starts and stops well, runs and drives good, tracks down the road straight at any speed, a real pleasure to drive. Seller Reserves the right to cancel auction due to local sale. People have asked if they can drive it home? I see no indications that it wouldn't make a road trip. But you may want to check on open carrier shipping as it is usually less expense than your cost to fly out and drive it home. Keep in mind this is a 45 year old un-restored ride. A $500 PayPal down payment will be Required within 48 hours of auctions close. Balance paid in full with certified check or cash within 7 days of sale. Car and title will not be released until payment clears my account. Car can be stored inside for a short time while arrangements are made. Buyer is responsable for arranging for transportation and all costs associated with same. As with all used cars this vehicle is sold in As Is condition. If you are not completely satisfied with how I described this car in my listing upon inspection at my location, I will return your deposit. Serious buyers can call me at 580-402-3349. Please just bid the amount you would be willing to pay for this classic ride as I am not disclosing the reserve. I feel it is reasonable for a car in this condition. The car has an old Pioneer AM/FM Cassette radio in the dash. These old models had adjustable shafts so I dont believe any modifications were made to the dash when it was installed. The radio does work but I had not tried the cassette. The original radio was long gone before I bought the car. (I am currently using a underdash mounted Alpine Stereo Unit which is Not Included in the sale) It only has one small fluid leak under the car and that is from the rear main seal, it's not bad at all for the age. Could use valve cover gaskets replaced, Im sure they are still original. I do have a short video walk around of the car but forgot how to add to listing. On Oct-24-11 at 20:06:26 PDT, seller added the following information:
