Vehicle Detail
For your consideration is this 1977 AMC Barcelona II. I will try to be as complete in my discription as possible so that there are no disappointments with the winning bidder. Now if you are looking at this ad you are probably familiar with this make and model of car. This particular vehicle has the standard 304 ci V8 with automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, AM/FM Stereo Radio, A/C, Cruise Control and the Barcelona Trim Package. It was built in January 1977, you can see the production date written on the inside of the hood. I am the second owner of the car. It drives and rides great. The engine ides smooth and beautifully and starts right up even after sitting for a week or more. In the last 6 months/1000 miles I have done the following work to it: -Rebuilt carburator-New fuel lines-New fuel pump-New water pump-New hoses-New rear brake cylinders and brake shoes-New tires-Alignment-New fuel filler hose-New belts-Flushed cooling system-Tune up-Repaired the horn and a coupe of gauges that needed it-New battery-Compression test on all cylinders/ excellent compression-New exhaust and muffler-New catalytic converter/ Passed California's tough requirements with flying colours The general condition of the car is good. It is what I would call a 15 - 20 footer. There is no rust underneath and the frame is solid. The paint has chips and scratches that are appropriate for a 34 year old car. There are a few areas of surface rust with the worst of it shown in the pictures, behind both front wheel wells and along the base of the car at the rear. The seats will need new velour, but the vinyl and Barcelona braid are in good condition. It will also need a new headliner (I currently have it sprayed back up but is not pretty) and will need a new vinyl roof. The rest of the interior is in good condition with all switches and gauges working, even the lighter. The clock is unplugged so the battery doesn't run down. I currently have the cruise control disconnected and the A/C will need to be charged. The milage is as reported to me by the previous original owner but the DMV added a 1 to the front of the milage when they recorded it in my name. Judging by the condition of the car mechanically, I and my mechanic would believe the original owner. I am happy to answer any questions or forward any additional pictures you may want. Please be serious when bidding. My reserve doesn't even cover the above listed work. The winning bidder will certainly enjoy the car.
