Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4 with Z71 off road package. Truck has 124,000 miles with a very solid and good running 5.3L engine and a strong transmission. Over the past year it has had new brakes, new brake lines, new ABS speed sensors, new battery, new U joints, new spark plugs and a KN high performance lifetime air filter installed. The A/C blows ice cold and the heat blows hot as well. It has a factory installed AM/FM stereo and CD player with custom installed after market speakers. Z71 off road package includes skid plate, heavy duty suspension and on the fly 4 wheel drive. It comes with a towing bar/trailer hitch and ball and brake light hook up although it has never been used for towing. It also has sliding rear window, overhead console with map lights, cruise control and 8 foot bedliner. It is set up for a Fisher Minute Mount 7'6" plow - plow also available and sold separately. This truck has never gone off roading and has never plowed commercially - it was only used to plow the driveways of two properties I own locally. Most of the miles are highway miles as I have used it to commute daily between Bridgewater and Randolph and back. It has never been used for carrying heavy loads although it is rated for a half ton payload. I get between 14-17 miles in mixed driving. The interior shows well and just needs a good scrub down. The exterior has some scratching, denting and normal wear and tear for a truck which is 11 years. I am the second owner of this vehicle and bought it in early 2006 when it had 59,000 miles and have faithfully changed oil and filter every 3,000 miles. Now for the bad stuff - I am disclosing all known problems and mechanical matters which will need your attention. Bidders are welcome to come inspect this truck and take it for a test drive if living locally or nearby. Service engine light is lit and diagnostic has indicated a PO440 reading which means that it has a defective vapor canister purge valve. I have got the replacement valve but haven't had the time to install it. There is an occasional screeching noise coming from one of the belts, so I am assuming it's either the bearings on the alternator or on the power steering pump. There is also a grinding noise coming from the front end which stops when the steering wheel is turned to the right. I inspected all components under the front end and found nothing loose or broken. This is a matter which will require the attention of a professional mechanic or someone with better than average mechanical skills. I am neither. The plate which holds the rear bracket for the passenger side rear shock absorber rusted out and fell off. Since I don't carry heavy loads, I removed the shock. I still have the shock and if you going to carry heavy loads with this truck, I recommend welding a new plate so you may be able to re-install the shock. There is a dent about the size of a football on the driver side fender and driver's door which was the result of a minor accident in a bank parking lot but there was no structural damage and the door opens without any problems. I didn't have collision insurance at the time and it therefore never got repaired. The rubber pads on the running boards located under the doors came unglued last winter and haven't been replaced. The power windows will not roll down. I have been told that it's a small plastic bracket which wears out after a few years from rubbing against the cable which pulls and pushes the windows up and down. The starter may need replacement as sometimes the truck will slow start, but I am not really sure if it's the starter or another electrical component. I did have the alternator tested and it is working as it should. A new battery is also being charged properly. The tires are 3 years old and will need to be replaced before next summer. These are all the mechanical issues I am aware of. Everything else is in working order. I am in the process of buying another vehicle and do not have the time or the money to tackle these issues and that's why I am selling it. A 6 year old Fisher Minute Mount plow is also available for this truck and it is priced separately. Call me or email me for more details. I am going to start this auction at $299.00 and there is no reserve. A deposit of $200.00 is expected within 3 days, which can be paid via Paypal or cash. The remaining balance in either cash, certified check or money order is expected within 10 days. After 10 days I reserved the right to re-list the item unless communication is re-established. Deposits will be forfeited. Shipping is the buyer's responsibility although I will help you as much as I can. For a flat fee of 150.00 I will deliver this truck within a 100 mile radius of Bridgewater, MA Zip Code 02324. Thanks for looking and God bless!
