Vehicle Detail
ONE OF A KIND 49 NO RESERVE THANKS FOR LOOKING AT MY AWESOME TRUCK. I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SELL BUT A BABY ON WAY MEANS FAMILY COMES FIRST. 1949 Ford/DeSoto Pickup (I guess it would fall under the ratrod category but really is too nice in my opinion ). Cab is a channeled 1949 Ford F1 truck cab done with a sinclair filling station shop truck theme (still has ford vin tag in glove box). Graphics on doors are stickers so they can esily be taken off. Frame is a completely custom Z-ed box tubing done by a professional frame shop. Drivetrain is fresh 403 small block, TH400 and 8.5" Big 10 bolt rear end all from a 1977 Olds (truck is titled as a 1977 Olds due to the drivetrain and the custom frame is also vin stamped to match the drive train and title). Grill is from a rare 37 Desoto with an awesome hood ornimate with DeSoto also hand painted on the air breather and graphics on the tail gate. Truck sits low and looks mean but never had any bottoming out issues. Pete and Jakes chrome shocks are all new front and rear as well as re-arched leaf springs. the gas tank is also new and has been moved to the rear of the truck with a correct fill tube and cap. The motor has a new aluminum Edelbrock intake, water pump. Brand new Cadillac batwing air breather and air filter. The seat was just refoamed and recovered and looks very nice with the green vinyl and tan leather two tone and has 2 seat belts. Front and rear tires are brand new and have less than 2000 miles. Brand new headlights with built in turn signals (about $400 alone) Brand new billet Lokar shifter. Jack Daniels brake pedal. Lakester stlye headers with wicked one off bedrail exhaust. Motor sounds very mellow through exhaust but rattles off nice with small spacers under the caps or really loud with caps off. The front end has a new disc brake setup from Speedway motors. The front windshield glass and seal are brand new and the doors have brand new primary door seals. Front axle is a reman straight axle out of a 49 Ford. The radiator is a brand new aluminum 2 row from a 87 toyota truck. It has all new wiring and all lights including turn signals, headlights with high and low beam, brake lights, dash lights in all new guages (speedo, volt, temp, oil pressure) as well as a working horn. The battery is new and located in the rear as well as a passenger side frame rail security disconnect switch installed. The floor of the bed is old barn metal on plywood and will lift up to access the fuel tank, rear axle, brakes, battery, trans cooler etc. The spot lights installed in the front pillars are brand new "dummy" spot lights. The hood cover is awesome and made of water proof Sunbrella material with stainless snaps. This truck has had just over 1900 miles put on it since completed. Built by a retired naval engineer in North Carolina and it was done right. this has no cut corners and I drive it to and from work 60 miles round trip on the highway on nice weekends. It has been driven all over with no issues or leaks and I even take my 3 year old son with me all the time. Its got lots of patina on the cab with some dents and a some rust on the cab corners and bottom door back corners but its all solid and could be fixed if you really wanted to. The doors currently do not have glass installed in them, they only have the door latching mechanisms. I have also not installed any wipers on the truck since I only take it out on nice days. all window and wiper components can be bought on ebay or lmc truck ect or a complete set up can easily be custom made if needed but I never worried about it. The rear glass and seal are new but when installing it did crack but is not in any way a safety issue and just adds to the patina in my opinion. I am sure there is more and im sure you can tell this is not a chopped up welded together P.O.S. over $10,000 and not including the countless man hours in building this truck. I had no intentions of selling but I have to put my toys on hold for a few years due to a growing family. THIS IS A USED VEHICLE AND IS SOLD AS IS WITH NO WARRANTIES AVAILABLE! THIS PIC SHOWS BED PAINTED. THE FIRST PICS ARE FROM WHEN 1ST COMPLETED AND BED WASNT DONE.
