1968 DODGE CHARGER R/T -440CI MAGNUM W/4BBL CARTER AVS -A-727 Torqueflite Console shift -8 3/4" rear differential -Sunfire Yellow w/ Black Vinyl Top -Black interior -Black transverse ("bumble bee") stripe -15" Magnum wheels w/ BFG Radial T/A's (Front: 235 15R60 Rear: 255 15R60) -AM RADIO -Power brake -Power steering INTRO: This car was owned by 1 family for nearly 40 years until it was sold to the owners prior to me. I have owned this car for 6 years. No accidents and driven by mature professional adult with family. Never raced. Always garaged indoors and driven with care on weekends to local destinations under 100 miles distance. This car was never loaned out to friends or strangers. The car was always garaged. ENGINE: Engine block is original to the car as represented to me by the previous owner. It was rebuilt back in the 90's. I bought the car with 7000 miles on the odometer. The car now has 19885 miles on the odometer. The previous owner bought this car from the original family 2 years prior to that. The car had been in the same family for roughly 30 plus years. The engine starts up always. No smoking. No leaks. It doesn't burn oil. I have religiously changed the oil and filter every 2000-3000 miles. No modifications to the engine or drivetrain. All factory original equipment. The Carter AVS is a new rebuilt unit correct to that model year. The original carburator from when I purchased the car is included. Original air filter housing with 440 Magnum plate. K&N air filter. Last tune up was last summer. No engine oil leaks. No drips on my garage floor. No anti freeze, transmission, power steering, or brake fluid leaks. No belt squeaks. The engine could use a little dressing up. The paint on the intake manifold is getting brown in some areas. The spark plug cables are correct date stamped. Corbin clamps. The exhaust manifolds could use a powder coat. The master cylinder brake booster was finished in the correct factory cadmium gold anodization as opposed to being painted black as in most restoration jobs. I was told that the block is original to the car although MOPAR did not VIN stamp blocks back in 1968. The transmission switches perfectly and smoothly across all RPMs. The windshield wiper cleaning fluid pump has stopped working. The wipers work perfectly. I don't know if the car will burn rubber, I never tried nor have I entertained the goading of others. The radiator is perfect condition. The 72 month battery was replaced last year. The starter is working fine. The wiring is perfect uncut, unmodified (to the best of my knowledge). No shorts as far as I can tell. BODY AND EXTERIOR: The body panels are straight. No waves. The paint is glossy and even all over. When you finish waxing, the rag will slide off the hood. The black vinyl top is shiny and taut. No bubbles. All the chrome is shiny and polished no rust. No hazing. No micro cracks. The body panels are evenly fit. No tight fits here and loose fits there. The driver's side fender panel has a slight graze on the paint where the paint is cracked but no dent or crease. See the picture. It doesn;t seem to show clearly. I would say a 5 footer to see it. The doors close shut with an affirmative catch. The glass is polished and free of micro scratches although the driver's side window is starting to show a few streaks. No windshield cracks or dings. The glass all has the Chrysler pentagon. No aftermarket glass. Trunk is solid. A little surface rust has started to develop. All original jack, spare, and trunk liner. The front and rear bumper chrome is shiny and clear all over. The window comb swipes were replaced with rubber channel seals and need to be replaced. The back window rubber seals are fine. The door lever chrome is a little hazy on the driver's side but not bad at all. The passenger side looks fine. The signal lights on the front hood both work. All the lights work. The headlight doors open and close perfectly and in unison. The car has air shocks in rear. The exhaust is getting rusty. The mufflers are Flowmasters. Last alignment and tire rotation was 2010. The transverse Bumble Bee stripe is correct decal not painted. The triangle vent windows, seals, lock levers work perfectly. The antenna is good and solid. All logos and emblems are good with strong colors. The fuel cap chrome and trim is perfect condition. The tires were replaced in 2009 and have approx 5000 miles on them. INTERIOR: The interior looks original. No rips, splits, or cracks. The door panels are also in good condition. No rips, splits, or cracks. The carpet looks good, no rips, fuzzy, matted fibers. The car does not have a moldy 'old car' smell. The seat belts all look good and work perfectly. The shoulder belts and retaining loops are good, although no longer perfectly elastic. All locks work perfectly. The keys are shiny and chrome not worn amber. The original steering wheel is good condition. The dash is beautiful no dings dents or cracks. All the gauges work perfectly. The clock stopped working two summers ago. The lettering is white and un-yellowed with the exception of fuel, which is ivory-ish. The heater and defog blow strong. Temperature actuator works perfectly. The vent cables work perfectly, although the passenger side vent lever mount is cracked on one side but mounted firmly on the other side. The console and gear shift are good condition. The key to the console lock is missing. No crack on the rear plastic console top. The headliner is taut but there are two or three areas where the stitching is coming apart 2-4." The car comes with nice black carpet floor mats. The door armrests are good condition, no cracks, although the plastic chrome paint on the armrest base of the driver side has gotten dull. The door lock buttons are original black plastic. The glove box door and liner are good condition. The glove box light works. The AM Radio works and volume is loud. All the vents work no broken vanes. The front seat position actuator works perfectly. The rear package tray is in perfect condition. The rear window plastic surround trim is in perfect condition no cracks. The dome light cover looks original good condition. EXTRAS: The car comes with all four original steel 14" wheels with original Magnum hubcaps and Redline tires not mounted 235 14R60 all four. The car also comes with a poster previous owner made as a display banner for car shows. The car also comes with a few copies of a newspaper feature article that was written on this particular vehicle. in Manitoba. TITLE: Clear
